Still riding the high from Saturday’s triathlon 🏊🏽‍♀️🚴🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️

This week starts with a grateful heart, for an able body, for friends who chase challenges too and for the journey I’m on to reach the big, scary goals that light me up.

Onward & upward ✨

Apparently the theme for the second half of spring was my favorite blue dress 💙 and some of my favorite people doing my favorite things

Pre-race focus and jitters. My partner @lexi_pinter and I ended up with only about 20 minutes to find the warm up area and warm up before they called us into the start tunnel. Half our warm up actually ended up being running around the venue to get to the warm up area! Neither of us had been to a race before so it was all new!
Our wait in the registration line was dragging on, and thankfully everyone was kind of enough to let us go ahead the line (unlike airport security 😆) but we kept each other calm and confident.

Once in the warm up area, we both did some dynamic mobility, ripped on the ski erg a bit then pushed and pulled the competition weight to get a feel for it. Then, it was go time!!

The tunnel talk was really cool, unlike anything I’ve experienced at any other types of competitions. It was unifying with “girl power” as well as individualized mental prep all in one. We had some moments to close our eyes and deep breathe to center ourselves, and my favorite out was the suggestion to ask our self “who do you want to show up as today? What type of competitor or participant do you want to be? You get to decide!” That really helped me dial in and remember that my objective was primarily to have fun while also testing my performance against my training.
Having never trained with my partner (only met her once and kept in touch over messages!) we came together and balanced out very well. Lexi is super positive, and incredible work horse, supportive and humble. We figured out we had similar intrinsic motivations which was the cherry on top for me. God really gave me the perfect partner for this one!

More to come on the race experience. All in all, a huge success, a proud series of moments, and so excited to dive forward into what’s next!

First Hyrox in the books! 👊🏼 the goal was to have fun and we absolutely accomplished that.
Goals were hit.
Limits were tested.
And a fire was lit 🔥

Already planning the next one.
I have a lot to say on the path that brought me to this point, too much for an instagram caption. Fitness racing is a new breath of freedom and possibility and I’m pumped to see where it takes me next!
