Freshie Season ✅ #thankyouseniors

Coming into this season our team had a goalkeeper problem. The problem was…we didn’t have one. As in zero. That’s a scary thing, especially for the guy that’s responsible for coaching that position.

Thankfully, we were able to convince two wonderful young ladies to accept the challenge.

Ava is a freshman that had played some keeper at the club level, but had shifted her focus to scoring goals rather than stopping them. She ultimately said yes because she wanted to help the team.

Lexie is a junior that hadn’t played soccer at all since middle school and had never trained as a keeper. She initially declined the offer to join the program, but later decided to give it a shot because she thought it would be fun to play with her friends.

Sitting here now, it’s tough to explain how awesome the experience ended up being. Both were an absolute joy to work with and attacked improvement every single day. As a coach, I literally could not have asked for more and I am so proud of the progress they made.

How about a combined 6 clean sheets?! 👏👏👏

Thank you, Ava and Lexie, for making this season special. I hope it was half as memorable for you as it was for me!
