Girlhood, in the details.

A portrait of the morning itself: the remnants of a time spent getting ready with my dearest friends.

My wedding was a celebration of love, but it was also a celebration of girlhood. Of beautiful, strong, supportive women who show up for you, make you laugh, and make everything a little more fabulous. The ones who show up in the mundane everyday moments and share in the joy of big celebrations.

The friends who helped me into my dress. The one who picked up my favorite donuts. The one who offered to photograph the morning so we could remember it. The girls who stayed up late with me the night before, who put on a full Super Troopers x Mamma Mia production at 2am, and the one who stayed up whispering with me into the early hours of the morning, the way we did at sleepovers when we were younger.

The girls who stood in the rain outside the church, helping me with my veil. The girls who wrote me the most beautiful letters to open on the morning of my wedding.

There was lipstick and perfume, silk and lace, glam and glitz, hugs and even a few tears. But more than anything, there was friendship.

The kind that makes you feel known. The kind that shows up. The kind that turns ordinary moments into memories you’ll carry with you forever.

This picture holds all of that for me: the beautiful things, yes, but mostly the beautiful women who made them mean something.

An ode to my divas, and to the extraordinary gift of being surrounded by women who make life a little more special and a lot more glamorous. ♥️

God has truly tested and blessed me with so much over the course of this year. Through all the good days, the bad days and the worst days, I have never been so at peace in my life and I am so thankful for the life that has been given to me. In a time where I never stopped for a moment, where I believed I should have more, where I never truly appreciated the present and took too much that I had for granted, God showed me what it meant to be weak, to be vulnerable and to be in a position where all I had was Him. I woke up every single day, with no other option but to keep moving forward. No matter how horrible or great a day may be, I knew God had me and I went to sleep every night with a smile on my face.
God has given me such an amazing support system; my parents, my family, my girlfriend and her family, my friends, and many others who have been so generous and so supportive through everything that has happened.
Jesus has shown me his endless love through a time of confusion and dejection. This whole experience has shown me how blessed I really am in my life and that I have a chance to do so much more in the servitude of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 was a verse I went back to many times. It reminds us that our temporary struggles prepare us for glory far beyond what we can comprehend. Jesus Christ is there for you, always reaching his hand out. He WILL give you peace through your burdens, your struggles and your pain. This too shall pass and may you find peace and rest in your own life. May God bless you all
