ESSEnce (n.)

The core nature of something. The fundamental quality that makes a thing what it is.

Just over a month ago I got a crazy idea: put together a mixtape. A body of work that captured everything ESSEntial has become this year. It didn’t stay a mixtape for long before it turned into a full album.

I reached out to some of my favorite artists right now. Artists who’ve supported my label. Artists who believe in what I’m building and where it’s going. Artists I want to see win just as bad as they want to see not only me but each other win. Artists on the rise and on the grind right alongside me.

This isn’t a collection of global dance hits or Billboard toppers. This is music for the streets. For the sweaty underground clubs. For bumping in your car and to get you through whatever it is your going through. It’s the sound this label has been building all year.

Everyone on this album is going to be no stranger to the spotlight. Eventually You’ll see all these names on the charts, on the biggest playlists, and on the biggest stages. Get familiar now.

13 songs,17 artists. The first ever Album on ESSEntial Records.

this album checks every box I set out to check and that’s because of The Artist on it.

ESSEnce drops everywhere November 6th.

I can’t count the hours I’ve spent on 1001Tracklists hunting down IDs, studying what everyone was playing, and pulling inspiration to sharpen my sets. I always envisioned being recognized like this. Some might call it manifesting.

This year was different. I stopped listening to everyone else’s opinions, ideas, and advice, and did things my way, the way that felt right to me. Everything I’ve achieved this year happened organically and independently, with my own team, and that’s what makes this one so special.

This award means more than I can say. It’s proof that we’re moving in the right direction.

Big love to 1001Tracklists for recognizing the endless hours. Thank you to the fans for the constant support, and to my team for going all in every time I ask.

And this is only the beginning. 97 this year. Coming for #1 next year. 🔥

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT COMING AT 5PM EST!!!

The 4th release on @essential.recs comes from an artist who’s quickly become one of my favorites.

Consistently delivering straight DJ weapons for the underground

I believe in this guy heavy, and I want to see him win.

Hailing from Mexico and now officially an ESSEntial Allstar…
@mikeepsse with his new single Laughing.

And yea I meant it.

This label isn’t random. It’s built with artists I believe in, who believe in me…
With One goal: win our way.

Brazil, you don’t play about your music. 🇧🇷

Watching Dom Dolla drop my track for a few thousand was unreal. That energy? Certified Brazilian approved.

Thank you to everyone out there showing love.

And to the ones who said this “wasn’t for the club”…
I guess Brazil didn’t get the memo.

Muito obrigado. 💚💛
