Sigh. Here’s a throwback to a neighborhood place we adored: Leyenda on Smith Street in Boerum (Cobble?) Hill, Brooklyn.
This sleek cantina hit on all cylinders — excellent cocktails, great food, a terrific vibe and a talented, welcoming staff.
We absolutely loved our visits, and I feel lucky we crossed paths with this special place during our years in Brooklyn.

A fabulous addition to the list of Brooklyn-centric variations of the Brooklyn cocktail itself (which ofc is a variation on the Manhattan) like the Greenpoint, Red Hook, and Carroll Gardens.

2 oz Rye whiskey, preferably Rittenhouse
.5 oz Sweet vermouth
.5 oz Dry vermouth
.25 oz Green Chartreuse
1 barspoon Maraschino liqueur

Garnish: Cherry

Glass: Nick and Nora

It’s the first year in 10 years we haven’t done Sleyenda ❤️‍🩹🎅🏾🎄.
I miss the decorating with the team and the anticipation of the month long asskicking services all in the name of spreading the holiday cheer.
But also I guess the silver lining is I can / will / and may actually WANT to go see other holiday pop ups. I may even get a Christmas tree in my own house again.
What you got for me, NYC? What should I see now that I’m not drowning in tinsel?
And can we shed a tear or two over the lack of Coquito Ho Ho Hos in our lives this year? 😢
We miss y’all!
