Thankful for a chance to be speakers, but even more so listeners last week at @folk_alliance New Orleans.

We connected with industry and artists alike at Community Conversations and look forward to sharing more of what we learned here soon. But what makes the Folk Alliance experience so special is always the music itself.

By the time we finally made it out of New Orleans after getting stuck during the storm, we had—to paraphrase @emilyscottrobinson—weathered a whole world of pain but were also shining like new. 💜⚜️💚

@folk_alliance 2026 part 6: the rest of "Friday" night's private showcases (by these ones it's past midnight and actually early Saturday morning, thus my watch yelling at me about my sleep score) Saturday late morning after a few hours sleep I took a quick spin around the exhibit hall, a quick peek into the volunteer jam circle, got to hear a lobby jam from my volunteer doorkeeper post, and had lunch by the player piano.

thank you thank you to my dear friend @glennbackes for nudging me out of the house, where I was hiding, just trying to process a continuous and unbearable news cycle. We agreed to a music matinee followed by the march and protest downtown.

AND I AM SO GLAD I DID. I was gobsmacked by @leylinesound — please check them out! Newest musical and vibe crush. They are from #Austin and were here in New Orleans for the @putumayo_world_music Festival at the always wonderful and beautiful @broadsidenola.

This Sunday at @waterloorecords I’ll be sharing my new album followed by an intimate conversation with @itsquentin 🎤 4U is a breakup album infused with the sounds of Austin. Think Alanis Morisette meets Joni Mitchell with a healthy dose of soul. See you there from 4-6pm!

One week from today you could be waking up in beautiful Fischer, TX. Roll into the campground for song circles galore before the evening’s music begins. Ley Line; Chuck Brodsky; Ellis Paul; Tony Kamel; Langham & Gill and Robin Bienemann Then more song circles in the campground. Rumor has it that some of the performers will be hanging around for the song circles too. The forecast is looking beautiful. Join us, won’t you? Advance tickets through Monday. www.cabin10.org.
