Lez Monē - "Take Care Ya Bizness", promo single from Beatbox Records, 1994.

"Take Care Ya Bizness" is the first project released by pioneering rapper, Lez Monē. This track belongs to the raw "Bone Hard" sound coming out of early 90's Hiram Clarke neighborhood in Houston. Written by Harvey Luv and produced by Crazy C, it stands as the only known track in her catalog not penned by herself.

In an interview on @rgannik_podcast, she credits Big Mello - an early supporter - for giving her the name, "Lez Monē the Pimpstress", and the connection shows in her cadence and delivery. The interview provides a rare glimpse into a hyper-local era where sound, style, and identity were all rooted in the neighborhood.

#flashbackfriday Released on October 31, 1995, today marks the 30th anniversary of “On Top Of The World”, the third studio album from Memphis hip-hop duo Eightball & MJG (@8ballandmjg) 🎱
Released on Suave House/Relativity Records (@officialsuavehouse), “On Top Of The World” was the follow-up to the 1994 album “On The Outside Looking In”. Having quickly established themselves as two of the best rappers from the South, the independent success of rappers Eightball (@8ightball) and MJG (@pimptypemjg) helped to secure the Houston-based Suave House Records with a nationwide distribution deal through Relativity Records. In 1995, the duo returned under the new deal with their third studio project titled “On Top Of The World”. Including their breakout single ‘Space Age Pimpin’’, “On Top Of The World” was certified Gold after debuting at number eight on the Billboard 200. Production on the album was handled entirely by Smoke One Productions (@tmix_muzik). Guest features include E-40 (@e40), Mac Mall (@therealmacmall), South Circle (@the_officialmrmike @rexroberson72), and Big Mike (@o.g.bigmike), among others 🎱
Following the release of “On Top Of The World”, both Eightball and MJG went on to pursue their respective solo careers. MJG released “No More Glory” in 1997, while Eightball followed with the double album “Lost” the following year. The duo reunited in 1999 to release their fourth studio album titled “In My Lifetime” 🎱
