Debra is telling a story! The June 2025 Houlihan Narratives will mark Debra East’s 25,894th day on Earth- our pale blue dot. Debra will share reflections through the burnished lens of her observations and behaviors cultivated through queer resistance in the lands called Wyoming within the community called Wind River Country. We can all read her writings at debraeast.substack.com

Wow. That’s a wrap. WRP June Pride 2024 Celebrations came to a lovely, warm close last night with our screenings of There Are Things To Do and @realmamabears 🐻 Thank you so much to @pflaglanderwy, Monahooboo Hut🍿, and the @rivertonbranchlibrarywyo 📚 for helping to put on such an amazing event. Here’s some pics of our film screening committee, Hannah and Oscar with Monahooboo Hut, and the great @lezwest and Jordan Bishop introducing the films! There are still a few days left of June so be sure to tell your queer friends/family that you love em— well be sure to say that throughout the whole year!! This month was truly such a success because of our community. We couldn’t have pulled off all of our events without you. Be sure to reach out if you didn’t get on our mailing list and sign our proclamation on our website! And of course— donate so that we can do this all again next year!! See you at the next meeting/hang out. We love you!!

What an amazing 2024 Pride Fest Weekend. This was the smoothest Pride Fest we’ve had in our humble opinion! We believe that this year was such a success due to all of the work we have put in internally as a queer community and due to such a strong commitment from our allies. It was such a joy and honor to see this hard work come to fruition. We have so many more amazing photos and stories to share but for now, we want to give our gratitude to everyone who made this past weekend happen. Go to our Facebook to see the full list of the people and groups who helped us make this year a success. And don’t forget- we have two more events!! WRP Queers with Quills Poetry on June 18th and the WRP June Pride Film Screenings! on June 26th.

We are thrilled to welcome these fine humans to the NIA Board of Directors!!! THANK YOU to each of you who voted in the elections during December. We have been busy combing through your responses to the ballot questions, using this data to shape what we prioritize in our work during the coming year. We’ll be introducing each of your new board members individually in the coming days, but if you’d like a sneak peek, head over to our website and check out their bios. Link in our bio will get you there. We hope to see many of your faces at the open session of the NOLS Board of Trustees Meeting next Friday, February 5. Elena Chin, NIA President, will be presenting on behalf of the NIA. Thank you for your continued support and engagement; we’re excited to move forward together in this new year.
