Pete Miller enters his third season at Mae Jemison with an experienced roster and the firepower to build on last year’s winning campaign. With much of their core returning, the Jaguars have the pieces to become one of Alabama’s most dangerous teams.

The starting backcourt returns intact, led by Malachi McNair and Robert Strong. McNair recently earned a basketball offer from Alabama A&M, while Strong provides the toughness and steady decision-making of a gritty floor general who keeps the Jaguars under control.

The headliner is Cortez Hudson, whose impact puts him among the city’s most valuable returners. The two-sport standout recently added an Alabama A&M football offer after averaging approximately 17 points and eight rebounds per game as a sophomore and earning third-team All-State honors. His production and presence give Mae Jemison a centerpiece capable of taking over games.

Sophomores Jaylence Byrd and Damaryious Lewis add another layer of talent. Both picked up offers this summer, strengthening a roster with the depth to challenge opponents beyond its starting five.

With an established backcourt, a proven star in Hudson and promising young talent, expectations are rising at Mae Jemison. The Jaguars look equipped to make this a season to remember.

🐆 Cortez Hudson & Camron Pryor — The 2-Headed Dragon
Cortez Hudson and Camron Pryor are two young athletes representing the Mae Jemison Jaguars, bringing size, athleticism, and a competitive mindset to the field. The 2026 roster lists Hudson at 6’5” and Pryor at 6’5”, both as Junior
Cortez Hudson is a physical athlete who plays with toughness and explosiveness. His ability to make plays and compete on both sides of the ball makes him a player to watch as he continues to develop.

Camron Pryor brings athletic ability and versatility to the Jaguars. His size and developing skill set give him the potential to become an important contributor for Jemison.

Together, Hudson and Pryor represent the “2-Headed Dragon” — two athletes with the mindset to compete, improve, and make an impact every time they step on the field. Built different. Made to impact. 🐉💙💛Hudson + Pryor =
🧱 Size: Two legitimate high-school athletes with above-average frames.
⚡ Athleticism: The ability to threaten defenses with movement and physicality.
🎯 Mismatch potential: Defenders have to respect both players rather than loading up on one.
🔄 Versatility: Their athletic profiles can allow the coaching staff to move them around.
🧠 Development upside: Both are sophomores, giving Jemison significant room for growth. #football #viral #collegefootball #hudsonzathletics #jagnation
