Getting the itch to travel, so sharing some of the best gluten free foods while in Lisbon a few months ago.

Overall, Portugal is a great option for traveling as a celiac with much of the traditional cuisine being naturally gluten free and the Portuguese Celiac Association offering helpful resources for finding gluten free restaurants.

📍Chez Béa Café Crêperie had a large selection of gluten free sweet and savoury crêpes and the sweetest owners

📍TOTALE Ristorante Pizzeria was very knowledgeable regarding cross contamination and even had different types of gluten free dough available

📍GROM is a must for celiacs and gluten intolerant folks exclusively serving gluten free cones and a variety of gelato flavours

📍La Trattoria had many gluten free items available and staff was extremely helpful in flagging which items had a higher risk of cross-contamination

📍Tasco Do Vigario is a small tavern serving traditional Portuguese dishes. Most of the menu was gluten free and the server was able to flag the few items that weren’t

📍Rice Me Restaurant + Deli is certified by the Portuguese Celiac Association were I was able to try traditional codfish cakes and get the best pastel de nata in Lisbon

📍L’Herbe Folle offered a selection of savoury crêpes and sweet crêpes could be made gluten free upon request

📍Bacalhau Na Vila in Sintra had a clearly marked menu identifying gluten free items and the Bacalhau à Brás made for excellent fuel while exploring Sintra

📍Potato Project was a fun snack amidst all the sightseeing, just make sure you notify them of your allergy and request that they change their gloves as not all toppings were gluten free

📍DespensaN6 100% certified gluten free establishment with the fluffiest crepes and fresh baked goods

📍Bali do Cais offered a variety of gluten free pastries certified by the Portuguese Celiac Association

Descobrimos uma creperia à moda francesa super charmosa em Lisboa! 🇫🇷🇵🇹🥞

@lherbefolle_ 👈🏼
