I think this is our moment as entrepreneurs and business owners to be proactive. We’re good at solving problems. We build products, create jobs, challenge old systems and find opportunities where others see barriers.

So apart from what is obviously wrong… why don’t we help create solutions?

Let’s design a system that rewards the behaviour Australia actually wants.

Here’s a few thought starters.

Founders who reinvest profits into hiring, manufacturing, equipment, exports or R&D received incentives to keep building.

Entrepreneurs who spend 10+ years creating jobs and value were rewarded differently to short-term flipping.

Every apprentice, graduate or regional role created unlocks tangible benefits.

Experienced founders who exited one business and started another here in Australia received incentives to do it.

Create a ‘Build Here’ framework that makes Australia globally competitive for startups and scale-ups instead of assuming founders will stay regardless.

At the end of the day, business and Government need to stop acting like opponents. Business owners aren’t asking for free rides and most understand tax funds things we all rely on, but perhaps there’s a better partnership model.

In summary; incentivise investment, reward job creation and encourage reinvestment.

@davidpocock, @mark_bouris @janine_allis, @timwilsonmp other founders, operators, economists and policy people... I’d love to build on this in the comments.

Meet Liam 👋 Head of Operations at Blue Sky Drinks

Liam helped build athlete-backed Gravity Drinks Co. from the ground up and now works across every part of the business - partnerships, procurement, logistics and customer experience.

He keeps things running smoothly so the team can keep building.

And that hands-on approach is a big part of how Blue Sky Drinks continues to grow strong brands behind the scenes.

Putting @drinkgravity_ flavours to the ultimate test.

Gravity’s Co-Founder @liam_battye + CFO @gmitchell1976 are putting their taste buds on the line.

Watch as they go blind to see if they can truly pick out the notes that make Gravity a fan favourite.

Can they guess the flavours? 🍋 🍊🥒 🍉

A few years ago, it was just mates, late nights, and a big idea. 💡

Fast forward and Gravity has grown into one of Australia’s fastest-rising RTDs. 🚀

We’re grateful for our community who’s backed us since day one and to everyone joining us now, welcome to the journey. 💛

We’ve built the team, refined the flavours, and created something bigger than we ever imagined.

And the best part? This is only the beginning… many more things exciting coming soon. 👀✨
