In our typical family fashion, Max’s 18th birthday celebration was a fantastic whirlwind! 🏈 Friday night football, Saturday morning SATs, 🎉 the birthday table, Saturday night homecoming, and a Sunday family lunch to keep the celebration going!

Noah and I took a special trip to Arizona to visit Liam and explore Thatcher. We watched Liam pitch in an EAC scrimmage against Pima, found a great gym, and explored the beautiful Coronado National Forest.

We missed the Mattox boys, but it felt so good to be together again, surrounded by nature. My heart is full. ❤️

It’s always hard to say goodbye but we will be back soon, beautiful Arizona!

These two best buds took a break from baseball today and met halfway between their campuses for a round of golf. Liam plays at Eastern Arizona College, and Luke plays at Central Arizona College.

And yes, I made them take this picture and text it to me. 😉

A Labor Day at the ranch with the boys always reminds me how much they value the outdoors, time together and a deep love of nature. 🤎

Surprise! Liam wanted to keep his quick Labor Day trip home to Austin a secret from my parents. Ryan had the trip idea Thursday night, and by Friday, he had made it happen. He takes immaculate care of our crew. We’re soaking up every minute of this unexpected quality time with our family. ❤️

First day of school pics! Noah is a Junior at Bowie. Max is a Senior at Hays. Liam is a Freshman at Eastern Arizona College. Be a light, boys! 💕 We are beyond proud of you.

I thought I would be more upset today. I had a few tears this morning, but they were mostly from anxiety. Instead, I’m feeling encouraged, excited and content.

Liam is going to have so much fun in this little mountain valley town. All of the baseball players moved into the dorms today, and the families were eager and happy. The people in Thatcher have been so kind, and it feels safe here.

My mama heart is at peace. ❤️

We took two days to get to Arizona, stopping at San Solomon Springs at Balmorhea State Park. Liam took me to dinner at Hotel El Capitan in Van Horn, and we soaked up these last few days of traveling together.

Tomorrow, Ryan and I fly home and leave Liam here to begin what I hope will be some of the most fun and formative years of his life.

Go get ’em, Liam. You are so loved and you’re ready! ❤️⚾️

Yesterday, we gathered in a private room at El Alma South for our first Quarterly Family Meeting. 🤎

The boys were responsible for setting intentions in categories like school, work, health, personal goals, service to others, fun/adventure and finances. We created a template they could use, but most of them chose to design their own.

Each picked three primary goals, and just like in a career, reaching those goals comes with financial rewards. Work hard. Follow through. Get rewarded.

Ryan and I walked away so impressed by their minds, their goals, their love for others and their commitment to this family.

We can’t wait for December to roll around so we can celebrate their progress and plan for 2027.

Thanks for being awesome kids. I am the luckiest mom and bonus mom. ❤️

My roots are in Kentucky, and I was raised in the Washington, D.C. area. Two months after graduating from WVU in 2001, I made my way to Texas. This is home.

The road here has been anything but straight, but I’m so grateful God led me exactly where I was meant to be.

What a beautiful birthday celebration of an incredible man on Saturday. Mr. Mattox, you’ve raised some remarkable men and women. And thank you, especially, for Ryan.
