Finally August and finally 21! 🍻

After my second official year of competitive diving, I decided to change it up from last years compilation of highlights from the season and decided to instead talk about the amazing people I’ve met in this sport. 6 Months ago, I was prepared to quit, coming off an injury and a 2nd place districts medal that held me from going to states. It was at that point that my teammates and the people around me started having more of an impact on my diving. They stopped me from being mad at every little mistake, got me through mental blocks, and provided energy and support when I needed it most in making one of the hardest decisions of my life to reclassify and take a gap year to pursue higher recruiting and competition. My friends stepped up, coming to meets and being the loudest people in the crowd, and the people I met at competitions showed me just how fun it can be at the highest level. I can’t thank them enough. This summer, I got to experience the sport from the other side, coaching my local summer league team. This was when I realized just how hard it is to motivate and get them exited about the sport, and for the older kids it showed how hard mental blocks are to deal with. Now that I can appreciate it more, I am beyond grateful to my coaches who have pushed me to succeed more than I could’ve ever imagined. I can’t wait to see what this sport still has in store for me❤️
