Stability is one thing. Being able to maintain it while performing a task is another.

The goal here isn’t just to shake a water ball and throw.

The water creates a constantly changing load, forcing the athlete to make adjustments to control their center of mass and maintain posture.

Now take that same athlete and ask them to throw immediately after.

We’re challenging their ability to manage that instability, transition into their delivery, and produce force without losing control of their positions.

Stability doesn’t mean staying still. It means being able to control movement while producing it.

Side note… every dude in these clips is a member of the 90 MPH club. ⛽️

The lead leg block isn’t something you force. It’s a byproduct.

Your front leg’s job is to become a stable, fixed axis. Foot planted, knee not collapsing. That stability is what lets you convert linear momentum into rotation.

“Throwing behind the lead knee” is a great cue for guys who shift weight and dump energy at FFS.

It puts you in a position to stabilize, stack up, and accept rotation into the front side.

That’s where the uphill lasso drill comes in.

The elevation gives a feel for holding that front side and actually working around it, and the lasso keeps it simple so you’re not overthinking the arm.

Now the lower half can actually load and unload the way it’s supposed to.

Friendly reminder ‼️
Knee extension is a byproduct of proper hip rotation, stop trying to just make it look pretty 😉
