To culminate three days of the Living Library as part of Ark Journal’s showcase for @3daysofdesign, Akanksha Sharma discussed a series of books that has shaped her varied career in fashion and textile design, as much as her own personal perspectives. The books ranged from still life photography by Irving Penn, Paola Antonelli and Alice Rawsthorn’s Design Emergency to the Hanuman Chalisa.

The last two months have been pretty overwhelming, travelling to 6 countries, tour, also some pretty life altering news in my personal life, that could explain a lot and could also become my superpower - which I’d like to share down the line!

Happy to round up the travelling in my hometown Toronto and now ready to get back in the studio and lock in… a few mems from the last 2 weeks, now back to regular programming 😅

Excited to see the Westminster Menswear Archive included in 100% UNOFFICIAL: The Fabric of Fandom, curated by @oof_gallery as part of this year’s @britishtextilebiennial

The exhibition explores how football supporters have used clothing to show identity, loyalty, and resistance — from homemade match-day pieces to contemporary works that challenge what football culture can be.

We’ve loaned some incredible garments, including:
Graffiti-covered overalls worn to the 1974 UEFA Cup Final
A 1970s fan’s embroidered Wrangler jacket
Pieces by @hattie.crowther and @jamiebackshall exploring the politics and pressures within fandom and masculinity in football

A brilliant reflection of how football and fashion have always been intertwined — and how that story keeps evolving.
