January — an interesting start. Not the best in a few ways. Rob Hirst passed away mid-month and although I never met him, seeing Midnight Oil twice and knowing the impact he had on Australian music made it hit hard. Massive.

This month I finally nailed a fun interview with one of my favourite local bands. Huge thanks to Annie, Blake, Mum and Dad, and Tom for the help. Go listen to LSF and catch them on tour — their Sydney show was great.

I also released a few more interviews from last year and 2024… almost up to date. Still not grey from any of this — yet.

Plenty of gigs and good times, though I found myself more excited on the day than leading up to them. Front row for Nothing But Thieves with Aaron, Stacey and Anj was a huge highlight. One very rainy weekend ruined most of my plans, but the one show I can’t stop thinking about was Lux Trevis — first time seeing him in a couple of years and wow, I missed his shows. Absolutely incredible. I also saw Gracie Love live for the first time and caught Kathy K for the first time in years — sooo good.

No resolutions this month, just goals. January felt overwhelming at times, so working in smaller chunks was necessary. It feels like a trial month — hoping February is lighter, less draining, with fewer issues and less rain.

February, let’s go. Back into interviews, and hopefully back into sorting my 30th with a bit more purpose.

Lovely to meet and or see you all! Great to catch up with everyone! This is why I’m part of the music industry because of people like I’ve listed. I feel very fortunate to of found a place in the local music scene and weeks and weekends like this past one make it all worthwhile!

And a big thank you to the staff at TBH, Diceys and Resin for your help if I needed it!
