The rules of commercial cinema are shifting. 🎬🌍 Everyone wants the “cinematic look,” but nobody talks about the physical toll of rigging a 15-pound lens for a 12-hour run-and-gun commercial shoot. Getting hands-on at IBC this week proved one thing: the gap between indie hybrid shooters and Hollywood-tier DPs is closing fast. Pushing massive, fast-aperture cine glass on agile mirrorless bodies is no longer a compromise it’s the new baseline standard for global commercial production. Over the next few months, I’m taking this gear out of the pristine exhibition halls and into the mud, the rain, and the high-stress commercial sets across the EU, UK, and US. We are going deep into tech reviews that actually matter to working filmmakers. ⚡️ V-Mount vs. B-Mount power management. ⚡️ Spherical edge-to-edge sharpness vs. Anamorphic character. ⚡️ LED workflow (Nanlux) vs. traditional HMI efficiency. If you’re a filmmaker, gaffer, or gear head looking to scale your production value without scaling your budget, you’re in the right place. What’s the one piece of gear you’ve been hesitant to invest in this year? Drop it in the comments and I might just review it next. ⬇️ 📸: Testing the optical limits at #IBC2026. #nanlux #sonycine #fujifilm #sigmalens

Libec’s new Q30B and Q50B tripods open the spreader and release the legs with a single ring, carry a 45kg (99lb) payload, and weigh around 3kg (6.6lb). We spoke with them about how the Quick Deploy System works, where the idea came from, and what a year testing in the Arizona desert changed. Comment to get the link to the full interview video.

Libec is proud to announce the release of the TH-X2, an update to the TH-X, a bestselling tripod that has earned the absolute trust of videographers and professionals worldwide over the past decade. Designed as a true evolution of its predecessor, the TH-X2 focuses on maximizing leg usability. While completely retaining the familiar height and smooth operational feel of the original, the new model now comes standard with a detachable, multi-angle carrying handle to reduce physical strain during transport. Additionally, the bowl base features two newly added accessory ports (1/4" and 3/8"), allowing users to smartly mount monitors, lights, and other essential gear. With the introduction of the TH-X2, these two highly requested features are now standard equipment across Libec’s entire lineup of 65mm and 75mm video tripods. The system maintains its ultra-lightweight profile at just 3.2kg / 7lbs and folds down to a remarkably compact diameter of 110mm / 4.3". Standing sharply apart from the influx of cheap, mass-market alternatives, the TH-X2 is built to Libec's uncompromising quality standards to deliver proven, long-lasting durability. By equipping a decade-proven classic with modern rigging capabilities and enhanced mobility, the TH-X2 brings even greater value to today's demanding production sets. #Libec #THX2 #4KGPAYLOAD #Launched #Medialinks #Pakistan
