In California, gas stations are facing a unique challenge. The station signs are only configured to go up to $9.99 per gallon and at several stations the price of diesel has reached that maximum. Diesel prices are higher than they have ever been in history.

Worse, according to some news reports the advertising of the maximum price of $9.99 per gallon is meant to signal to truck drivers that they have run out of diesel altogether. Expensive diesel is a hit to the economy, but running out of the fuel at any price is a whole different kind of crisis.

Our highways are filled with semi-trucks burning diesel to bring the products we depend on to the markets. Our freight trains use diesel to transport what is not transported by truck. When the price of diesel increases, the cost of everything moved by that diesel also increases. This is one reason we are seeing much more inflation than the government wants to admit.

The diesel crisis is getting so serious that even President Trump has been forced to admit it. Of course, instead of taking at least part of the blame over his war of choice against Iran and his continuation of the proxy war against Russia through Ukraine, he is blaming Ukraine’s military strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.

The war in Iran is unlawful and unconstitutional, but in post-World War II America, it is normal. Here is the backstory.

When President Donald Trump decided to begin bombing Iran last June, he did not state a coherent or lawful reason for doing so. His director of national intelligence and his own CIA had publicly told him that Iran did not possess a nuclear weapon and had ceased building one in 2005.

His secretary of state told him that Iran and Israel had threatened each other, but he could not articulate how Iran imminently threatened the United States. Yet, since Israel planned to attack Iran, he wanted the US to help Israel do so. This was not a lawful request as the US has no treaty with Israel and, under treaties to which the US is a party, the legal bases for all offensive wars can only be treaty compliance or prevention of an imminent attack.

When Trump addressed the nation, his helter-skelter rationale argued for replacing Iran’s government, destroying its civilian-use enriched uranium, destroying its ability to build a bomb it wasn’t building, and neutralizing its offensive and defensive weaponry. None of these goals was lawful; nor was attacking a Tehran girls school. There was no mention of an imminent attack on the US or the economic effect of war on the vital international oil super-highway, the Strait of Hormuz.

One day, when history asks where you stood, “I didn’t know” won’t be an answer.. Not anymore.

We live in a time where images, videos, testimonies, reports, and eyewitness accounts are available to us every single day. We can see families displaced. We can see children pulled from rubble. We can see people denied basic human rights because of who they are and where they were born.

You can’t say you didn’t know. You can only say you didn’t care enough to look. You didn’t care enough to listen. You didn’t care enough to speak.

Years from now, our children and grandchildren won’t ask what political party we supported. They’ll ask what we did when people were suffering in plain sight.

What will your answer be?

P.S. Thank you to the charities, organisations, and artists doing all they can to protect the planet, children’s rights, healthcare, education, nutrition, equality, and so much more AND still find a way to speak out. They understand how everything is connected. We’re all connected.

#REPOST @roguednc - Today is a shameful day in American history. A congressional district in Northern Kentucky has turned into the battleground for America’s independence.

Thomas Massie, a Republican who holds a comfortably Republican seat, is facing the most expensive House race in history, with more than $30 million being poured in against him, largely by pro-Israel billionaires.

Despite Massie voting with the Trump administration most of the time, the Israeli lobby considers him a threat because of his criticism of Israel and foreign aid at the expense of U.S. taxpayers.

Americans must reject this anti-democratic and anti-American operation.

Previously, Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush were subjected to this same intimidation tactic from the Israeli lobby.

Although Thomas Massie is a Republican, we believe this race is greater than a MAGA civil war. It is a test that will set the tone in Congress and test whether Americans have a real opportunity to regain independence from Israel.

If you know anyone in Massie’s district, this is a rare chance to reach across the political aisle and urge them to vote for Massie. w @download_repost_pro

#REPOST @trenchgrenade - The Iran war has cost the average American nearly $9,000 in food, fuel, and ammunition prices while the government burns your future overseas. Americans are drowning while Washington feeds the fire with no accountability in sight.

Now Congress says they “can’t survive” on a $174,000 salary while the average American makes roughly $66,000 a year and nearly 1 in 3 Americans struggle to afford food and basic necessities.

Maybe another round of voting will fix the deeply rooted corruption?

#REPOST @nycmayor - Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed.

Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations. w @download_repost_pro
