Two years of whatever this is.

A very random, mostly cell phone, absolutely not chronological look behind the scenes. Also in the last two years: an ADHD diagnosis. So the chaotic camera roll checks out.

I did not set out to be a content creator. I’m mostly trying to have fun, eat well, take good pictures and show some love to local small businesses. I get burnt out, dumped by other creators (for not following some set of unwritten rules) very thankful for my stable Mom crew buddies, I’ve been deleting mean comments and DMs and often feel very cringy.

That said, this page has given me a lot more than I expected. New friends. More ways to be involved in my community. Some really cool opportunities. And a reason to have my 5D Mark IV and 100mm macro in my hands all the time again shooting food and bev.

It’s been a little chaotic, occasionally messy and mostly really joyful. Just like me.

I get to live in a place I love, with a family I love so much and a really wonderful group of friends around me. Pretty damn lucky.

This page has changed a lot in two years. I have absolutely no idea what it’ll look like a year from now.

Anyway. Thanks for being here in my little corner of the internet.

Food first. Vibes always.

About an hour from Bend and just outside Sisters, The Suttle Lodge & Boathouse is one of those places I never mind detouring for. The historic lodge, thoughtful design, and lakeside setting make it feel like you’ve stepped into another era of Oregon.

The Boathouse is reason enough to stop. I ordered the Seattle Style Hot Dog, my husband had the chip crusted trout sandwich, we shared curly fries, and the girls loved the chicken nuggets and soft serve.

I went to summer camp at Suttle Lake as a kid, and we spent so much time here when our oldest daughter was little before we moved to New York. Now that we’re back in Oregon, bringing both of our girls here feels like picking up where we left off.

Between the cabins, concerts, boat rentals, and events, it’s one of those places that’s worth planning an entire weekend around. We’re already talking about coming back next summer, and I can’t wait to bring my film camera. Some places just seem made for it.

Have you been to The Suttle Lodge & Boathouse? If not, add it to your Central Oregon summer list and save this for your next drive to Sisters.
