Our adoption books came in today and they’re the absolute ✨prettiest✨ thing I’ve created in a while.
♡
Heartfelt, unique, genuine, fun and full of Christ - just the way I dreamt they would be. 💕
♡
I’m already praying for each of the hands these books will pass through. Whether we meet them or not. Whether it’s a plethora of people or only one.
♡
I’ve loved every second of putting these books together. The prayers and research that went into creating them before hand, the scavenger hunt for photos, the writing... and rewriting... and writing out (again) of every sentence. My editor (Kevin) scratching out entire sections, adding new ones, our debate over certain words, or if certain things should be in the book or not.
♡
How do you summarize an entire family? Three different unique stories, years and years of life? How do you boil everything down to a few pages? How can this book ever be enough?
♡
It can’t. And it won’t. And that’s okay. But what this book can do is provide a starting point. A window into our family and hopefully the beginning of something beautiful.
♡
Only one final step before these get packaged up and sent to our adoption agency. And it’s a step I’m super excited for - hand lettered titles on each page. A touch of whimsy. The sprinkles on top of the metaphorical cake. ✨
♡
Once that’s complete they’ll be boxed up and sent to our agency. I’m eager to wrap this up and move on to our next step! Adoption isn’t pregnancy, but it comes with similar emotions, and milestones to celebrate. This is definitely one I’m excited for. 💕

This Scripture has always been heavy on my heart, especially at times when I find myself struggling with our infertility journey... one miscarriage, two ectopics and the loss of being able to conceive naturally, all within four years time. I feel robbed of the the thing that comes so easily to others... I feel grief, physical and emotional pain, disappointment, brokenness, sadness... but one thing I’ve learned as my husband and I have walked this journey is that we are not alone. Not only has God flooded our lives with His joy, peace and presence, but we have found ourselves surrounded by other couples who are facing infertility too. While I wish this wasn’t the case for so many couples, it’s a reality. What makes it so beautiful is seeing the way God has redeemed and blessed these families through miracle pregnancies, adoption stories and foster care. Whatever you’re facing, please know He has a plan for you (Jer. 29:11) and it will happen in His time because He is a God of miracles. I am living proof.

In the meantime, lean on Him and lean on each other. This journey can be so hard, but He will make it so worth it. 💜

Happy Birthday to this girl! If you know Tammy then you know that she is one of the most considerate and kind hearted gals that there is. She’s always putting others before herself. And guess what she did on HER birthday!? She helped me share the love of Jesus in our backyard to A LOT of kids for our second day of Mission McKinney! Happy Birthday to you, Tammy! I know you don’t like the spotlight, so forgive me. 😜
