Girl’s dinner looked a little different this month as we celebrated @ddmeansbusiness birthday at @mainro.la Supper Club. ✨ Definitely a more upbeat vibe than usual for us. 🥂💃🏽 Love my nights with these girls, and we’re so happy @iamtherealrio was able to join us too. @lifelover7 @vgopaul @makingtimetodine

Thank you for all who came and participated in my two weeks of celebrating Mother’s Day this year. It has finally come to an end. Mothering is just in a woman’s nature. Whether you have your own children or are there for those one’s around you- you should be appreciated and celebrated! All those amazing Aunties out there in this world too! It really takes a village, and this village is all I really need.

Grateful for all the Mothers and Aunties out there in this world doing the best they can each day to keep this world raising good natured and mannered little humans… and really showing up is the first step.

Another one for the books. We finally made it to Issa Rae’s raved about Somerville to see what all the hype was about.

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was a whole vibe. Dim lighting, live music, and a warm staff made it feel like an upscale New Orleans lounge. Sophisticated, sexy, and intimate.

We started at the bar and unfortunately never received service, but we made the most of it. Once seated, our waitress completely turned things around. She was attentive, upbeat, and gave great recommendations.

Starters were strong. The rolls with whipped chive butter were so good we ordered more. The kale salad was bright and perfectly balanced. The caviar fried chicken sliders were good, but the rolls and salad stole the show.

For mains, we ordered the roasted chicken, paccheri pasta, braised short rib, and the collard greens lasagna. Everything was flavorful. The pasta was rich with truffle, the short rib was tender, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. But the true star was the collard greens lasagna. Creative, balanced, and unforgettable.

Sides were mostly great. The Brussels sprouts were chef’s kiss and the carrots were beautifully seasoned. The fries were a bit heavy on truffle and the mac and cheese was slightly dry.

For dessert, the tres leches was solid and refreshing. The sorrel pear granita was unexpected but intriguing, with a subtle saltiness and creamy base. We learned it was meant to cleanse the palate.

Overall, Somerville is a full vibe. Perfect for girls night, date night, or a stylish meet up. We left full and happy. #makingtimetodine
