This was TOUGH and HOT. I struggled pretty bad throughout this one and honestly wanted to cry afterward but I still got it done. My longest run to date! Taking next week to lighten the miles up since we have a trip and then the following weekend is marathon weekend!!!

Sunday Funday = 16 miles for me & 18 for @lifeofroyle 2:42 total | 10:18 avg pace Longest run I’ve ever done which was a little intimidating going in, but it felt so good once I settled into pace. Held (decently) steady, finished well, and finally went beyond a half marathon! Legs are toasted but happy Sunday!

just one of those runs that reminded me why i love/hate this process 🫶 a few from the day: • ran 13.1 miles at memorial park in houston: 3-mile dirt loop & packed • loved seeing so many people out walking, running, just being active • hit my goal pace (9:55/mi) and felt strong after a slow start • first 3 miles = rough, but found my rhythm by lap 2 • night before = mandatory froyo pre-fuel 🍦 • morning of = jelly toast 🍇🍞 • mid-run = go gels, swedish fish, gummy bears for quick carbs🍬 • pit stop at mile 6 to regroup and reset • grabbed electrolytes & snacks from the truck before lap 4 • finished steady & proud 🤍 • luke showed me central market after & we got the best sandwiches — elite post-run reward 🥪 training for fort worth in full swing & feeling grateful for days like this 🤍

“That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run.” – Forrest Gump 26.2 miles at 26 years old — 3:58:18. I’ve never been much of a runner, but I’m always up for a challenge. It’s been a goal of mine to run a sub-4 marathon — so I went for it on my very first one. If running has taught me anything, it’s summed up best by Dennis Doyle: “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” Huge thanks to Pittsburgh for putting on an electric event, and to all the volunteers who showed up to support us loons out there chasing something. I don’t know when the next one will be, but I’m grateful I gave it everything and left it all on the course.
