My brother Taj @menofcouragephl I’m checking in checking again in and giving a little insight into this journey of running a nonprofit organization.
.
People want the quick way, but where GOD has us and where He’s taking us requires time, patience, and a foundation strong enough to sustain what we’re building. Some things you just can’t rush.
.
For anybody trying to jump in this lane, make sure you love the work and the people enough to stay consistent when the funding is low, the recognition is quiet, and the responsibilities keep coming. Build relationships. Keep your word. Be willing to serve when nobody is watching. The community needs to know they can depend on you.
.
This work will humble you, but it also keeps you grounded in gratitude. We know it’s only by the grace of GOD that we have the strength to keep showing up and sustain what He’s entrusted to us.
.
Slow and steady still wins the race. Don’t let somebody else’s pace make you rush your process. You can grow and make a real impact without compromising your values or integrity. Keep your heart pure, put the work in, and let GOD handle the timing. 💯🌱

Y’all say you believe in the youth… but would you put your HAIRLINE on the line?! 😂💈
.
I let a 10-year-old shape me up because how can we expect our children to perfect their craft if we never give them an opportunity to practice? Somebody has to be willing to take a chance on them BEFORE they get good. Give them guidance, room to learn, and a reason to trust their own ability.
.
Imagine what it does for a child’s confidence when an adult sits in that chair and says, “I trust you.” That’s a chance to turn “I think I can” into “I KNOW I can.” And that confidence can follow them way beyond a pair of clippers.
.
When I say I’m committed to serving and believing in our youth, my actions have to back that up. I can’t preach opportunity and never give them one. I can’t tell them to be courageous while I’m scared to sit in the chair! 😂💪🏾
.
My hairline will grow back. But that moment of knowing somebody believed in him enough to give him a shot? That can stay with him for life. 🌱
.
.
Major S/O to my brother @pmichael_ of the @juniorbarberacademy for being true to Proverbs 22:6 training the youth up, equipping them with tangible skills and pushing them to their full potential. I appreciate the work you are doing with the youth. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
This is the mission in action. @thetreehouseaipts

I’m doubling down on what my brother @menofcouragephl said in his last post. People have no idea what it truly takes to sustain a grassroots nonprofit organization. Through all the accolades, awards, citations, honors and accomplishments I’ve been at my job for 18 yrs while running the nonprofit for 15 yrs because that’s what it takes. A lot of sacrifices blood sweat and tears has been put into this mission through my willingness to be a vessel for GOD to work through me. I know where I get my strength and sustainability from. So when yall actually see the next chapter that looks like thriving just know it took a whole lot to get here.

THE TALK TO ME MENTORSHIP PROGRAM IS BACK!!! 🌱💪🏾
.
We are calling ALL past participants and new youth to join us for Orientation Week at The Treehouse! For more than 11 years, Talk To Me has poured into hundreds of young people through real relationships, consistent mentorship and conversations that prepare them for real life.
.
This program helps youth strengthen their confidence, communication, emotional intelligence, decision-making, accountability and leadership. We create a space where young people are heard, challenged, supported and reminded that their lives have purpose.
.
The success of Talk To Me has never come from simply hosting programs or events. It comes from showing up week after week, building trust and remaining present as our youth grow. We believe mentorship should produce measurable change and there is no version of mentoring children without irrevocable responsibility.
.

Nothing but GRATITUDE and LOVE for everybody who came out and supported #Krushmore BBQ! The energy, the people, the food and the love shown throughout the entire event was EVERYTHING! 🔥🔥🔥
.
For the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, Krushmore BBQ chose As I Plant This Seed as an organization to pour back into, and we don’t take that support lightly. Every donation helps us continue providing free programs, trusted mentorship, mental health connections, education and real opportunities for the youth and families we serve at The Treehouse.
.
Thank you to the founders, the entire Krushmore BBQ team, every vendor, sponsor and every person who purchased a ticket, pulled up, showed love or helped spread the word. When the community comes together like this, the impact goes far beyond one event the love continues through every child and family we’re able to serve.
.
We appreciate y’all for believing in the work, investing in our community and helping us continue planting seeds that will grow for generations. Much love from the entire As I Plant This Seed family! 🌱💚🙏🏾

I sat down with the founder of #KrushmoreBBQ to talk about the work we’re doing at As I Plant This Seed. What I respect most is that their support didn’t stop after one BBQ. For the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, they chose to give back to AIPTS. They built something that brings people together, then used it to invest in the young people and families we serve. That’s what community is supposed to look like. 💪🏾🌱
.
Every dollar that comes into AIPTS helps us keep pouring into the kids and families we serve. It helps us put mentors in front of young people, give them a safe place at @thetreehouseaipts , connect families to support, and keep creating opportunities that some of our kids might not have access to otherwise. This work takes people who understand that showing up for the community has to continue after the event is over.
.
To my brother @germlion and the whole team behind Krushmore BBQ: THANK YOU. Thank you for using what you built to help us build something for the next generation. That’s how you plant seeds that keep growing. 🔥🙏🏾

I’ve been honored from the White House to Chicago to Philadelphia City Hall, but none of it means anything without the GOD I serve. He gives me the strength to do this work. JESUS is the sustainer of this organization. Every door that opens and every door that closes is in the LORD’s hands.
.
Even through the hard times, He has carried us. We took the long route, and we’re not compromising our values for NOBODY. GOD gives me the vision and provides the provision every time.
.
I’m content to wait on GOD while doing my part because faith without works is dead. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
