Just imagine an area, pristine, very quiet, full with wildlife and carpeted with wild flowers.

In your backpack some basic nutritions, a small stove, a tarp and a sleeping bag.

As company you take a keen wildlife tracker, naturalist and very friendly and good wilderness guide.

For five days @bushstef and I emerged ourselves in a truly beautiful area in mid Italy. An area known for a small bear population and wolf packs roaming around.

Spring is just the perfect time of the year to visit this area, when birds are busy breeding and brightly coloured flowers dominate the landscape.

We saw tons of various animal tracks and sat for hours hidden at the edges of natural forests clearing, hoping to see a glimpse of bears or wolves.

We made camp at some of the most spectacular places, and lay there listening to nightjars, owls and common quails.

And did we see the wolves and bears? No, unfortunately not. But just knowing they are around made me feel happy.
