Your future fulfillment completely depends on your ability to do this one difficult thing.

True success and happiness cannot be found in the noise around you. Real fulfillment comes from taking the time to get to know yourself, spending quiet moments inside your own mind, and consciously avoiding the endless distractions that pull you away from your purpose. When you finally build this self-awareness, you can grab your challenges by the horns and uncover the real root of why you feel stuck. Joel Steele shares this foundational mindset shift with Hilary Burns on Getting Real with Hilary. Streaming globally on e360tv. Save this post to remind yourself to step away from the noise today.

What if the moments that change your life aren't the big ones?

Not your graduation.
Not your wedding.
Not your promotion.
Not even retirement.

Those moments are important. They milestones in our story.

But when I look at my own life, the biggest shifts often came from something else entirely.

A difficult conversation.
A question that stuck with me.
A book that opened my mind.
A quote that landed at exactly the right moment.

A tiny shift in perspective that changed how I saw myself, my work, or my future.

Those are the moments that quietly alter the trajectory of our lives.

My guest this week, Joel Steele (@lifeswitchofficial), calls them Life Switches.

They're the moments that flip something on inside of us.

A new belief.
A new possibility.
A new direction.
A new version of ourselves.

And here's what I loved most about our conversation...

You don't have to sit around waiting for a life-changing moment to happen to you.

You can create the conditions for one.

You can become more intentional about seeking wisdom, asking better questions, creating space for reflection, and paying attention to what sparks something inside you.

Because sometimes a single insight can change everything.

✨ Looking back, what was one small moment that ended up changing your life?

It is not about short-term money, it is about what comes next.

Most G League ownership does not cash flow. In many cases, it runs at a loss. The real value is long-term growth as basketball expands globally.

It is a bet on where the game is going, not where it is today.

Impact is rarely visible in real time.

You don’t always see what your work is building while you are in it. It only becomes clear after the outcome arrives. 💯

There’s nothing wrong with you. You just haven’t figured out your wiring yet.

What motivates you might look nothing like the next person, and that’s normal!

Once you understand what actually drives you, things stop feeling forced and start feeling natural.

That’s when things start to work.

Knock one thing out first, and everything else gets easier. Getting a workout in early flips a switch.

⚡More energy
👁️Better focus
🙂Better mood

It sets the tone for everything that follows. You don’t need a perfect plan. Just show up, move, and keep stacking those wins every day.
