Tomorrow, Maple goes home. And if I’m being honest, I’ll probably cry a little on the drive. Let’s be real I’m crying writing this 🥹 We have absolutely fallen in love with this sweet girl over the time she has been here. She is thoughtful, funny, curious, incredibly smart, and has the kind of temperament that just settles into your heart so quickly. She has become such a natural part of our daily rhythm here, and saying goodbye to these puppies never gets easier, no matter how many times we do it. One thing I never take lightly is the trust families place in me when they hand over a puppy they already deeply love. By the time puppies come to stay with us, they are already somebody’s baby. Somebody has already counted down the days waiting for them. Somebody has already dreamed about the life they hope to build with them. And I know how hard it is to send them away, even when you know they are safe, loved, and being cared for well. It is such an honor to get to step into that season of a puppy’s life. Over the last days and weeks, Maple has learned so much. We have worked on calmness, settling, socialization, recall, leash skills, place work, confidence, and learning how to peacefully exist within the rhythms of everyday life. But more than anything, she has simply been deeply loved while she learned. And now she gets to go home and continue becoming exactly who she is meant to be with the family who already adored her long before she ever arrived here. Maple girl, we are going to miss you so much. Thank you for trusting us with your heart, sweet girl. 🤍
