2026 Cancer Nation Summit is the highlight of my year! It’s really an honor to be able to build this community and to see the fellowship that emerges. Thank you all for your love, kindness and friendship. Don’t forget: We are here to be heard because we need a cure for care 💙💙💙💙@cancersurvivorship

“For a few days, I stepped away from the noise…
and returned to myself.

Water reminding me to keep flowing.
Sound teaching my body how to release.

I watched the sun rise… and set…
and with it, I let go of what I’ve been carrying.

Healing doesn’t always look loud.
Sometimes, it looks like stillness.

This was my time to breathe, to reset, to remember —
I am still here.
I am still whole.”

I’m deeply grateful to Escape to Thrive
for holding this space
and for the powerful connections made
with other survivors who truly understand.

Cancer advocacy requires deep reflection. It is a delicate, often blurry balance between healing and self-care, and being fully present as a stronghold for patients, survivors, and caregivers. Environments shift. Policies change. The work remains heavy, and deeply human.

So how do we carry on in the midst of uncertainty and difficult seasons?
How do we protect our voice, stay grounded in our values, and remain true to the mission that called us to this work?

Last week, I was invited to the @bagitcancersupport Escape to Thrive, a leadership retreat designed to strengthen, advance, and rejuvenate cancer advocates, held at (@miravalarizona) Miraval in Tucson, Arizona. The environment offered intentional space to restore mind, body, and spirit, while reconnecting with purpose and community.

I am grateful to Bag It Cancer Support for the invitation, and for their genuine investment in the well-being and growth of advocates. They understand that this kind of care is not optional, it is essential. The impact will stay with me well beyond the experience. Thank you! 🫶🏾🎯

Medicaid is a lifeline for cancer patients, survivors & their families. @donaldnorcross
will you oppose cuts & #ProtectMedicaid?

Medicaid provides essential health coverage to 80 million people across the
country, including those with cancer.
Any cuts could jeopardize lifesaving care for
millions of cancer patients

We need our lawmakers to oppose cuts & #ProtectMedicaid!

It’s clear: cuts to Medicaid will harm cancer patients. Don't let this happen. Oppose cuts and #ProtectMedicaid.

Massive, rushed cuts to Medicaid will hurt millions of hardworking people in America who count on it for lifesaving health care. This includes countless cancer patients & survivors like myself!

We are taking a pause from Gloucester Goes Pink and PCOSgurl to honor a very special little warrior...

Thanks to Pop pops Kustom Kars and @houseof6bucks I got to learn about Easton "Buddy" 's story.

I am working with Team Buddy to honor the request of a young gentleman Easton "Buddy" who is a 3 year old South Jersey resident who was diagnosed with a Medulloblastoma brain tumor and recently a spinal tumor.

Easton lives with his mother and three siblings. He lost his father in 2022.

Our plan now is to bring as much joy and inspiration as possible to help the family and Buddy keep fighting.

Easton and his family's request right now, an Eagles themed walk in his hometown of Pitman!

Easton was not able to see the Eagles parade after they had won the superbowl, so we are trying to arrange a "walking parade" involving as many different entities as possible (school groups, police & fire departments, local businesses, motorcycle clubs, characters, mascots, Philly sports teams, dignitaries, bands, and just people from the public wearing their Eagles gear)

PLEASE CONTACT RICH @ POP POPS KUSTOM KARS ON FACEBOOK TO HELP - please do not reach out to groups, businesses or entertainers without touching base with event organizers.

We will have some special guests and surprises and are encouraging everyone to join us Monday Night April 28th as we ask The Pitman Council and Mayor Razze to paint Pitman Green for Buddy and host an Eagles themed walk for him on May 4th!

If you'd like to keep updated on our plans and/or join us please follow Pop Pops Kustom Kars on Facebook and check in here for further details!

Thanks for helping us honor this little warriors wishes!

Ready for a sneak peak?

We are still confirming our event schedule and speakers but are excited to share....

GLOUCESTER GOES PINK 2025
August 23, 2025
Chestnut Branch Park
Mantua, NJ 08051

What is the event about?

Gloucester County ranks as the #1 county in
NJ with the highest rate of breast cancer.
Together as a community, we can change this!

While going through my own breast cancer journey, an integral part of my care was the support I received from family, friends, and Making Strides @makingstridesgpsnj
So much so I was compelled to start Gloucester Goes Pink last year!

With the support of the community, local government, businesses, organizations, media, and special guests, we raised over $9,000.00 for breast cancer and making strides in our region!!!

This year, we hope to raise $15,000.00

As part of our event last year we had the honor of being joined by Mayor Zimmerman, the medical team from Inspira's Cancer Center and Luann Cahn, breast cancer survivor, author, speaker and veteran journalist from NBC10 as our event ambassador.

I am a #breastcancer survivor and founder of Gloucester Goes Pink to support @makingstridesgpsnj in #gloucestercounty #NewJersey and a legislative ambassador in training with @acscannj

Today, I had the immense pleasure of joining fellow advocates Sister Maggie Lopez and Michael Myers as we advocated and talked with Leana @ld3nj Senator Burzichelli, Asseblyman Bailey Jr. And assemblywoman Simmons to thank them for supporting legislation for biomarker testing and step therapy, talking about other important legislation like co-pay accumulator and PSA, as well as asking for continued support in the FY2026 budget for

#NJCEED
This aims to reduce cancer incidence and mortality rates by providing early detection and screening services, especially for underserved populations because, as we know, the best protection is early detection.

#NJCCR
The New Jersey State Commission on Cancer Research (NJCCR) was created in 1983 with the goal of eradicating cancer through scientific research. Research is important because the better we understand cancer, the more progress we will make toward diminishing the tremendous human and economic tolls of cancer.

We are now asking New Jersey Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin and @senpaulsarlo to continue support for established funding for #NJCEED & #NJCCR in the FY2026 budget.

Early detection, research & access to education about cancer, literally saved my life & everyone should be able to say the same!

Continue to share your stories, raise your voices, and advocate for better #health for all!
