Best Self Lab X Strength Sanctuary 🍃💗
Open Women’s Day 🥰

Still smiling looking back at such an incredible afternoon 🥹

We brought an amazing group of women together for an afternoon focused on mindset, nutrition, building confidence in the gym and, most importantly, backing ourselves.

From our seminar, to getting under the bar and building confidence with our lifts, to finishing off with some well earned recovery. The energy throughout the entire afternoon was something pretty special.

A massive thank you to every woman who came along, got involved and made the day what it was ✨🤍

Here’s a little sneak peak at what we got up to 🫶🏼

Strong women build strong women 💪🏽💗

I just love you @liftingwithdj 💙 Not only did you look super gorgeous today, you are one of the strongest and most inspirational women I know. Literally proving that age is just a number and that we can achieve anything we put our minds to.

Deb is 70, she’s running her own PT business, an incredible mother and grand mother and all round amazing person who is also physically so strong. She’s my inspiration and one of the main reasons I keep showing up for my session each week 💪

Deb trains out of @zerow_southside and @strength.sanctuary each week so if you’re looking for an incredible trainer, definitely get in touch with her. All her info is here @liftingwithdj

Wk.3 got me feeling a strong type of way✨

Learning and applying new cues takes EFFORT. It can feel awkward, frustrating and mentally demanding—especially when it’s time to load the movement. At first, moving differently feels uncomfortable and unnerving not because it’s wrong, but because it’s unfamiliar. That’s part of the learning process.

Every session builds awareness. Every rest periodt helps consolidate what you’ve learnt. When you return to the lift with intention, you’ll often feel stronger, more confident, and more connected than before. Through repetition your body begins to trust the movement, and your mind learns to support it. Eventually, what once required conscious effort becomes second nature.

The quality of your focus before the lift influences the quality of your movement during it. Moving with better intention shifts your body to respond with greater strength, connection, and flow.

Your mindset sets the tone for every lift🌻🧘🏽‍♀️💪🏾❤️‍🔥⚡️🙂‍↕️

Ending Wk 3~
Squat 6 x 95kg x 4
Bench 6 x 52.5kg x 4
Deadlift 6 x 97.5kg x 4

That’s a wrap for the first building phase💪🏾 From not being able to deadlift 115kg pre-comp… to repping 115kg with a 3–4 RIR now 📈😮‍💨

Sitting with some delectable numbers:
S: 112.5kg x 3
B: 55kg x 3
D: 115kg x 3

Each program has its own set of challenges. When I had an off lifting session, I let self-doubt take over and dictate how I viewed the training. In these moments I am reminded that, I have the power to challenge those thoughts and anchor myself in what I know to be true: “I am stronger than I think”… Growth in powerlifting isn’t just about getting stronger physically—it’s about building a stronger mindset too. Sometimes the obstacle is the lesson, and I’m grateful to grow through it🙌🏾

The strength gains alone have made this program worth it but, my SLAY SBD belt is the cherry on top😍❤️‍🔥

Bring on the next phase, IM HUNGRRYYYYYY!😋

Hack squat looking a bit off?

Knees caving, no control at the bottom, and it just doesn’t feel right… yeah, you’re not alone.

Small change, big difference 👇

Think about twisting your quads out as you set up and hold that tension the entire rep.
Down and up.

That’s what gives you:
✅ Better knee tracking
✅ More control through the movement
✅ A stronger, cleaner squat overall

Let it cave in and it looks off.
Lock it in properly and everything cleans up.

Simple fix but it works. Give it a go!!

#gym #powerlifting #strength

Give it a go next session and feel the difference 💪

Dear powerlifting,
This journey has transformed my body and mind in ways I never thought possible. The most significant part has been breaking through my own limits and redefining what I believed I was capable of. This day wasn’t just about the competition—it was about proving to myself that I can achieve anything I set my mind to, breaking through self belief and enjoying the experience regardless of the result.

At the beginning, I knew nothing about the powerlifting world—only that I loved lifting heavy. I told myself I’d do just one comp, simply to challenge myself and bring back a sense of purpose and motivation. Everything moved quickly. @liftingwithdj walked into my workplace and I asked if she’d coach me. Within a week I was training & two months later, I was stepping onto the platform to compete.

6 months ago I stepped onto this platform a novice 23yrs 73kg woman, with top weights of 107.5kg squat, 55kg bench and a 110kg deadlift. Totalling 272.5kg✊🏾

Here at Mountain Top Rumble I stepped out as a sanctioned 23yrs 71kg strong woman, hitting 122.5kg squat, 57.5kg bench and 122.5kg deadlift. Totalling 302.5kg + 2 new PB’s🙌🏾

This prep was mentally tougher than what I’ve experienced before, but I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who stood by me through the self-doubt, mental blocks, fatigue, and stress. Your support has overflowed my cup in ways I can’t fully put into words—I truly wouldn’t be the woman I am today without y’all. Thank you for everything❤️‍🔥

I love lifting heavy metal circles, there’s no better feeling than being on that platform. Best believe we’ll meet at the bar again👌🏾
