Madagascar periwinkle (Catharanthus Roseus Or Vinca rosea) is in the dogbane family, Apocynaceae. Interesting fact - derivatives of this plant have been used to create patented drugs for leukemia and Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. However, this has created conflict because of its many indigenous uses. It is toxic if ingested, and is endangered in the wild, due to environmental destruction but it is cultivated as an ornamental plant. Originally from Madagascar, but I found it here @privilegealuxes in Isla Mujeres.

Hibiscus flower: My favorite thing about our favorite resort (@privilegealuxes) in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Hibiscus is supportive for cardiovascular health. It lowers blood pressure and cholesterol and is high in vitamin C. It’s aesthetically pleasing and in many places it artistically represents paradise. I love this flower. ❤️ If I were a tropical plant, I would be this one.
