“Colour Muse, from sky blue to stucco pink, this Venetian apartment vividly reflects its surrounding with views on to a canal on one side and a lush garden on the other, in a quiet part of the Dorsoduro neighborhood in Venice, that architect Tessa Sakhi went on to renovate. It has always been important for her to feel the history of a place, and this apartment, with its stone arch doorway, original wooden beams and beautiful terrazzo flooring, had that in spades. Her style is eclectic as she likes to blend vintage with contemporary.

“There wasn’t a single straight wall or beam in this apartment so I couldn’t work on this project like I usually do, where I draw plans and details on Autocad down to the last millimeter and then hand them over to the engineer to execute. I can be quite obsessive-compulsive about things being perfect so it was very interesting for me as an experience to let go and work differently on site.”

Perhaps it was the act of letting go that had led to a home that is an uplifting testament to a hands-on, instinctive and craft-led approach.”

A chandelier doesn’t just illuminate a room, it gives it depth and dimension.
The play of light and shadow is what adds warmth, texture, and emotion to a space.
When you’re choosing lighting, pay attention to the shadows, they’re what make your design truly come alive. Featured chandeliers from @lightboxintl
