Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary Alexa!

30 years old and three years married - what a week it has been! You’ve grown into a phenomenal woman over these past three decades. I never imagined you would be celebrating your 30th birthday in your 55th country, with your husband of three years, Peter, at your side - but here you are!

I remember taking you out for a drive as a baby just to get you to sleep. I remember going to dance recitals, lacrosse games and high school theater productions to watch and cheer for you. I remember high school graduation, sending you off to college at University of Pittsburgh, and sending you on your first trip as an adult to India. I also remember the joy of walking you down the aisle on your wedding day. Time keeps moving even as I treasure these memories!

I am so proud of you and am so happy to be celebrating both you and Peter, as are Channa, Jazmyn and Justin. Love you!💕

[save] here are four ways to be more spontaneous when you travel 🫶🌎

1. Plan “unplanned” days- keep that calendar open for new and random adventures!

2. Book things with flexible cancellation policies!
We’ve all been there, you get to a place and then find something like a tour or a hotel that you completely missed before booking everything. Keep spontaneous by utilizing hotels and tour companies that offer flexibility. Some of my favorites are booking.com for hotels and Viator for tours.

3. Ask a local for recs

I find my most fun days are going on adventures that locals have told me to see. I never feel like I can plan a trip right without the advice of someone who actually lives there.

You can also use @elsewhere.io - they connect you with local experts to help plan itineraries and book trips that are customized for you.

4. Be a yes man!

Embrace the unexpected and unknown. Say yes far more than you say no. I promise you, that’s when you’re led on the best adventures.

I learned how to be spontaneous from my mom! And it’s been the best way to travel.

If you had this happen to you, would you say yes?? Anna was the best and I’m so glad she randomly approached me at breakfast that day. Check out her photography @tsq_photo she has a full studio in Times Square!
