Mary Oliver once asked what I plan to do with this one wild and precious life.

My answer: enjoy every possible minute 🩷

I spent decades under fluorescent lights powered by coffee and take out. It took its toll on my body, mind and spirit.

Then I decided I’m no longer willing to sacrifice my health, potential or sanity for someone else’s dream.

If you’re building your dream business or creative pursuit and are breaking a lot of the stereotypical rules, welcome.

Let me know in the comments what you’re building. I’d love to follow along.

Last week, I saw a reflection that shook me awake.

Someone asked me to send them something and then profusely said not to rush or go out of my way to send it. What I had intended to do immediately because I was excited about it, I delayed for an entire week.

I didn’t do it on purpose. The energy of the ask was simply telling me it wasn’t ready to be received. And I finally had to force myself just to do it so it wasn’t cluttering my inner to do list.

When you’ve spent your entire life being the low maintenance, good girl, it’s not always obvious that you’re dismissing what’s rightfully yours.

It’s ok to ask for what you want and let yourself receive it.

You’re not a burden or an inconvenience for getting your needs met.

Comment DIARIES if you want a link to the Lightworker Diaries on Substack. I recorded a podcast episode that goes into more detail.

The hard days are when we find out what we’re really made of. They show us what we do in the face of fear, doubt, challenge, and even uncertainty. It’s the hard days that makes us the best at what we do.

I know the energy has been wild the last few days. I’ve invested more time than usual laying belly down on the earth to ground my energy and today is looking like no exception.

Today was also the day I let myself be held by my coach in a way that I haven’t allowed myself to before. As independent as we are, we don’t have to do this alone. And sometimes we have to be reminded of that truth in ways that we don’t like to admit.

So today, if you’re feeling this message, let me be your reminder that you’re doing a great job. Everything is happening in your favor. It’s all working out even if it doesn’t look like it yet.

Keep creating. Keep taking care of yourself. And keep leaning towards that dream. You’ve got this and today you’re stronger for staying in the game.

❤️ if the message was received.

I hope you choose a life that brings you immense amounts of joy.

If you couldn’t already tell, quality time is my love language.

I want to write, travel and make memories with the people and pups I love.

It’s really that simple.

What do you love most? What are you willing to disappoint others for?

Let me know in the comments.

If writing and travel are high on your list of loves, we should probably be friends 🩷

I used intuitive writing to know where to go and when to buy and we had one of our best birthday trips yet.

I’m guessing you got questions. I’ve got answers, so let me hear em.

Whether you’re visiting family or new places, travel is always a worthwhile investment ✈️

Where are you traveling to this year?

I want to go visit my family in Michigan and travel somewhere internationally for my birthday in the fall. Got recommendations, let me have em!

What if joy was the plan? Not the reward at the end of the hustle. Not the thing you get to feel once you’ve earned it. Just joy. As the strategy. As the legacy. As the entire point.

I spent 25 years in corporate optimizing for everything except that. Security. Status. Stability. All the things you’re supposed to want. And I was good at it. Really good. But I wasn’t free.

Now when people ask what I’m working toward I tell them I’m working toward a life that fills me with joy. Toward living happily ever after. Toward being someone who chose their creativity and desires out loud and never apologized for it.

If you’re a writer, a creative, a coach, a healer, or a lightworker who has been waiting for permission to make joy the center of everything you do, this is it.

Be true to yourself. Do what you love.

There’s an exciting announcement coming on Thursday.

Remember to ❤️ and follow!

Let this be your reminder. No one is going to give you the permission to do what you love or to love what you do. That’s something you have to do for yourself.

Remember that the next time you are making a decision about what to do, what to create, what to share, what kind of life to live.

You get to decide. Make the choices that make you happiest.
