Fish Camp 26’. Status report- still no spoons

This summer I got the incredible opportunity to go out for fish camp again. I learned a few things and here they are:
- Crabs do in fact pinch people
- When a grill leaks it’s probably condensation not grease
- I am a beach volleyball try hard
- Jumping world is a great place to play hide and seek
- New opportunities = new best friends
- Different isn’t bad, it’s just a new perspective
Thank you Camp Rees for everything, you were exactly what I needed when I needed it.

TYJ for @tamufishcamp !!!

It’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that something that has consumed so much of my heart for so long is suddenly just… over. @tamufishcamp has gave me friendships that changed my life, memories that I’ll hold onto forever, and opportunities to impact people in ways I never could have imagined. It gave me confidence when I lacked it, purpose when I needed it, and a family when I was still searching for where I belonged.

I think the emptiness I’m feeling is really just proof of how deeply I’ve loved this chapter of my life. How lucky am I to have experienced something that makes saying goodbye hurt this much?

I know I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to explain what Fish Camp means to me, and I’ll never quite find the right words. All I know is that I am leaving this chapter a completely different person than the one who walked into Fish Camp years ago, and for that, I will be forever grateful!!!
