KIN welcomes… DOM JOHNSON

Although “welcomes” isn’t entirely accurate… because Dom is very much part of this thing with us.

When we started talking about what we wanted KIN to be, Dom was one of the people we wanted involved from the beginning. Not just because he’s a seriously bloody good DJ, but because he gets what we’re trying to create.

Great music. A great crowd. No pretence. And a proper party.

Dom has spent more than 15 years building Likeminded Music, first as an event and now as a record label, championing underground electronic music and putting good music and good people at the heart of what he does.

And he’s got a few stories…

He’s DJ’d on top of Mount Olympus, inside WWII bunkers, on boats, at underground raves and at the likes of Pacha, Ministry of Sound and Egg London. He’s played for Café Mambo, DJ Mag, Garage Nation and We Are Festival, and shared line-ups with Groove Armada, Danny Howard, Marshall Jefferson and Deborah De Luca.

His sets move effortlessly through house, garage, breaks, bass and techno, always with one eye firmly on the dancefloor.

Now based in Margate, Dom isn’t just playing at our first KIN.

He’s helping us build it.

And we couldn’t think of anyone better to have alongside us as we get this little adventure started.

Welcome to the family, Dom.

Although technically… you were already in it.

KIN — Monk Bar, Canterbury
7th November | 2pm–11pm
Tickets available now on Skiddle

Good Music. Good People. KIN.

🚨NEW SHOW ALERT🚨 We’re delighted to have @likemindednights @djdomjohnson join us as a new resident on City Wall. His energy and love of music and the local scene is infectious

Dom is another person holding up the local scene in and around Margate for years throwing parties, releasing music on his label and bring top underground DJ’s to Margate, pushing local DJ’s and keeping the vibe hopping. All set around family & local community. The annual Margate Mambo party is testimony to that. Check it out!!!

Josie and Tommy the Summerfest organisers are playing at this in Margate this weekend. It is organised by our friend Dominic Johnson the man behind the very awesome Likeminded Music events.

It starts at 1pm and is on the harbour arm in Margate and carries on into the night at Hoffs (this is ticketed so grab your tickets from Resident Advisor).

It is always really good fun, has the finest DJs and you can take the kids!

If you are heading to this, come and say hello to us! 😀
