And just like that, we’re done🙂‍↕️

This 50 days has truly come and went so quickly, but yet I remember being in the midst of it really wishing it would be over sooner than later.

From all the early morning wake up times after super busy nights at the restaurant to make sure I beat the vegas heat (I never did btw🥲), to losing literal toe nails and bleeding through more socks than I could tell you. Trying to stay on top of training as best as possible while still working full time and on my feet for hours on end most nights. Being self conscious most days and more worried about people looking at me shirtless on a run than the actual run itself. Making sure I still was able to complete these runs regardless of what I had going on or where I was. Whether I was happy, sad, mad, angry, tired or sore one thing stayed a constant and remained a non negotiable and it was these runs every morning.

Last year I set out to run 2 miles everyday for 100 days and fell short by just shy of 2 weeks from something that was out of my control so attempting and completing these runs was so much more than just these 50 days.

If you would’ve told younger me that didn’t even have the option to walk for years let alone stand on his own 2 feet that in my mid 30’s I somehow would accomplish running 3.12 miles every morning for 50 days straight with the bionic feet I have today, I’d probably think you were lying through your teeth.

Anything is possible friends, you just have to want it bad enough. 🫶🏼

Sub 23:00 5K ✅

I keep thinking there’s just no way my legs or lungs will be able to pull off another PR and every single run I’m even shocked at what my body’s allowing me to do each day.

I went into this run so mentally drained. Took a while to get the gears turning this morning and even told myself it would be okay if I just “took it easy” today.
I don’t know what goes through my mind when I start the clock but all my excuses or feelings go right out the door and I forget it all and just start kicking.

Running has been the biggest blessing these last 45+ days, as much as I dread it some days, these runs have been everything I’ve needed 🙏🏼

Shaking off the cobwebs and jumping right back into things after a week off, decided to see how the run would feel post swim.

Legs felt fine, side cramp from hell the first mile and a half did not.

Final 7 days🙂‍↔️

Back from vacation (aka eating and drinking much more than I should’ve🥲). Had a 4am wake up time to make my first connecting flight to then get me back home and of course had to rip some miles right as I landed. For being extremely tired and feeling extra thickkk today, I’m both shocked and pleased to still crank out another top 3 run 🙌🏼

Just goes to show you can enjoy vacation and eating out or “bad” and drinking (responsibly of course) and it not effect your fitness too much as long as you are consistent and stick to the plan 🙂‍↕️

We made it to the final 10 days 🙂‍↕️

A couple significant changes I’ve seen in just the last week:

I am starving just about all day, I eat non stop and can’t seem to fully get “full”. Not complaining but I am genuinely consuming so much food.
I haven’t been tracking nor really “dieting” my diet has consisted of ALOT of pop tarts, Kodiak cake waffles (IYKYK), rice crispy treats, and tons of bread and pasta.
I’ve either matched/beat my top 3 5K PR times every single day this week and I still feel as if I’m staying just shy of my zone 3/2 pace’s
Finally starting to lean out the way I was hoping, only took about 40 days of consistency to get there (still, so much work to be done🤦🏽‍♂️😅)

All in all feeling pretty good, legs feel stronger than ever, breathing is becoming easier as the days go on and slowly getting comfortable with being uncomfortable in the back half of my runs.

Last 10 day kick, here we go🙂‍↔️🏃🏽‍♂️

Hardest I’ve pushed my legs so far🫣

I was contemplating “taking it easy” today and was making up every reason as to why it would be okay.

These were some lame ass excuses that kept floating around my thoughts on the way to my run:
•Super busy weekend at the restaurant and on my feet non stop.
•Extremely windy outside and the sun just so happened to be shining brightest during my run just now.
•Forgot my runners and had to resort to my old runners in my car that are extremelyyyyy worn in.
•Been dealing with a pinched sciatic nerve for what feels like months now and makes my left leg go damn near numb and hurts beyond belief.

Once I parked, tied my shoes and put on my headphones I feel like every one of those excuses went right out the door and I told myself to suck it the fuck up and go.

Opened with an aggressive pace and told myself if I couldn’t hold that for the remainder of the run I was a bitch.

It worked. 🤝🏼

You've probably heard that the Sarti Spritz is the drink of summer here in the US! 🌞 Until now, it was only available in Europe, but we got it right here at Gaetano's 🌺
