Listen... once you hear it, you can’t escape it. The onomatopoeias Ih, Ké and Ah immediately become synonymous with problem-solving.

‘Death of Narcissus’

Plaster, oil paint, epoxy and wood on mirror
91 x 137 cm
2023

Here’s the first piece of a new series called ‘The Memory Palace’ which will cover 22 different artworks revolving around a single poem. Each work will be inspired by a different Tarot card and someone in my life.

This sculpture corresponds to the card IV: The Empress. Here is an excerpt from the poem:

‘In a black pool, the sunken gate
wrought of interlocked iron arms
unveils the mirror-clad Empress
bathing in gazes, bound to drown’

Huge thanks to @elimaheux for letting me borrow her face for the masks!

Sphinx & Minotaur
Oil on canvas
140 x 190 cm

Many thanks to @elimaheux who let me borrow her face for the Sphinx

Inspired by Canto XII from Dante’s Inferno:
“At point of the disparated ridge lay stretched
The infamy of Crete, detested brood
Of the feigned heifer: and at the sight of us
It gnawed itself, as one with rage distract.”
