The BEST night shopping after hours at @lilithmoonexchange 🔮👖👚🌕 BodyKind held a private shopping night to celebrate our community and hold a safe space for trying on clothes. The squeals, claps, jumping up and down, and smiles hyping eachother up was just what everyone needed. For so many, trying on clothes can be a deeply painful emotional experience so to see the process in this fashion(no pun intended) was everything and more. If you’re staying in Vail, every one of these is worth the drive down I-70. • Eagle River Brewing in Gypsum. Veteran-owned and all about lagers. Get the Oktoberfest, it took gold at the Colorado Brewers Cup. • Tu Casa in Gypsum. Family-run with Veracruz roots and a seafood-heavy menu. Order the ceviche tostadas and thank me later. • Pickled. Kitchen + Pantry on Market Street in Eagle. Worth the drive from anywhere in the valley for the sandwiches alone, and grab something from the pantry on your way out. • Boone’s Wine & Spirits, right next door to Pickled. 1,400+ wines and a staff that actually knows them. Make it a two-stop trip. • Mauka Poke Bar on Chambers Ave in Eagle. The freshest poke you’ll find in the mountains. If you’ve never been, that’s the one to fix first. • Color Coffee in Eagle Ranch. They roast in-house, and the patio is the move on a sunny morning. • Lilith Moon Exchange on Broadway in downtown Eagle. Curated secondhand with a little witchy magic. Bring in your closet cleanout, leave with something better. • Everyday Outfitters on Broadway in Eagle. The jeans selection alone is worth the stop. Tag the ones I missed. Your favorite Eagle business isn’t guaranteed to survive the next year. In fact most of them likely won’t. I’ve been fighting for local businesses in Eagle for more than a decade. I’ve watched housing costs rise, the workforce shrink, overhead climb, and online giants undercut local businesses at every turn. Meanwhile, online sales tax revenue in Eagle grew 155% from 2019 to 2022, while Downtown Eagle’s declined. That says people are spending money. Just not in their towns. After 18 years in business, I’m tired of watching small businesses fight this hard just to stay open. And I’m tired of seeing people care only after their favorite places are gone. If we want our valleys restaurants, shops, studios, and small businesses to still be here next year, we have to support them now, not just miss them later. Spend local while local is still here. A big thank you to everyone who came out to support Eagle River Coalition at our shopping night with Lilith Moon Exchange, or bought a garment off of the donation rack in August. We’re still waiting on our final tally, but we’re so grateful to Lilith Moon for partnering with us. If you haven’t stopped by lately, now is a great time. The shop has officially switched over to fall, and it’s giving us all the good feels: misty mornings, frost on the leaves, crisp blue skies, cozy sweaters, and hopefully… lots of rain.
