Now that I’ve switched leg days to static Wednesdays and Saturdays with wrestling on the hiatus and a birthday goal in the mix… the day was done, and @lillian.g5 leaves to Georgia this week. So after her plyo session we got a lift in.

Always happy to teach the tips and tricks that she will carry well into her future and now that I know she’s interested in the training side, it’s just way easier to go into depth on the ins and outs and the what’s and whys of things. Fun session except for the nasty pumps. Remember, I don’t even lift.

After this week, I’m truly gonna miss working out @lillian.g5 … just glad in college she will be wearing our number 5 😂

From the quiet, not quite sure of her talents, student who liked volleyball two years ago, to the powerhouse the whole gym stops to watch today. Super proud of her. @lilliangaskinsvb @crunch.landolakes

Gonna miss being the rabbit for some of @lilliangaskinsvb jump drills. Her explosiveness and power has improved tremendously over the last two years. Can’t wait to see her reign some power at @piedmontwvb @crunch.landolakes

Our time together is drawing to a close as @lillian.g5 @lilliangaskinsvb heads off to college soon. It’s been a fun two years since her dad walked over to me and asked me if I thought I could help his daughter get better in the gym and if all the jumping he’s seen me and a few of my clients do could help her volleyball. I of course told him I wish all teens had the opportunity to get more coaching beyond the sports.

When we first met, she was quiet, shy, not truly timid but could tell she was sorting things out in a good way. And, more importantly she was willing. Willing to try this different stuff that her dad convinced her would help her. Now she’s still the same relatively quiet lady, but is more of the strong silent type. (At least around me in sessions, I’ve also seen her lead team cheers at games so I guess not always lol) Now she hardly hesitates to try new things. Now she is more decisive. When she sets her mind to things, she does them. Even if sometimes I still have to every once in a while convince her she can do it.

I’ve been to her games, I’ve worked with her through her injuries, I’ve worked with her thru her busy schedules and her calmer schedules. I can’t express how much fun she’s been to work with and how proud I am of her graduating as well as earning the right to play college volleyball. I can’t wait to see her wallop some kill shots in Georgia, and continue growing into whatever she wants to become in her life.

TLDR: She’s a beast, here’s some more work, hip opening stuff, and counter closed stuff to generate more explosiveness from odd angles, as well as power. Proud of you Lilly!
