It’s such a gift to miss a place that so dearly felt like home. The sweetest part of my summer in BC was the peace that came with being surrounded by absolute silence. The Lord taught me so much in what it looks like to truly rest and sit with him. Ten weeks gives you so much time to think, read, and meditate on what the Lord has done and is actively doing.
Being back in Canada reminded me why I love Younglife and gave me a renewed love for this ministry.
Lately I find myself thinking about the opportunity campers get when they return from the mountains to share how they saw God. Every week for eight weeks, trips head into the mountains, rain, shine, or whiteout and every week they come back praising God, regardless of what they experienced. It places a simple yet powerful reminder that God is worthy of praise no matter the circumstances. Their gratitude challenges me to slow down and recognize that God is present always, not just in the mountaintops.
This summer grew and stretched me through a deeper understanding of God‘s never ending goodness. I truly don’t have enough words to express how much this summer impacted me and I will be forever grateful for a community so full of love.

Beyond has my heart !! It’s hard to describe the impact being a guide has had on my life. Guiding is one of the greatest things I’ve ever done. The death of self, the lives under my care, the decision-making, the grit, the prayer-life, the multiple toenail casualties - I’ve learned so much and lost so much but then gained so much more.

I have never felt closer to myself or to God. And I’ve never fallen in love so fast with people than when I’m guiding them. There’s nothing quite like seeing a mountain through the eyes of a camper, it’s like it’s the first time all over again. Just pure joy. Thank you God

Another page turned…

I’m already counting down the days for next summer. This place I lived for this summer was unbelievably amazing. Although the mountains are truly special, they weren’t what made it special, the people in these photos were. I’m so glad goodbyes aren’t forever. These people became my home for a summer, what a home it was. Jesus is making all things new, he’s making me new everyday and i believe he used this summer to do a lot of that.

Go west young man, go west, go beyond!
