this is HOME.

Yesterday was a day that I’ll never forget, there were SO MANY people having an outward expression of an internal change through water baptism.

Emotions were extremely high when I got the opportunity to baptize a few girls that I LOVE so dearly.

While watching people finish up getting baptized, Riley (my youngest sister) leaned over to me and told me she wanted me and my sister Addie to baptized her.

ALL I can say… I automatically started weeping!

I was a PROUD sister to be there for this big decision!

It was so amazing to see the smiles, tears and hugs of all the people rising up from the water. From all of death that was within, from the devotion in sin that got washed away by the blood of the cross of Christ.

Oaks Youth Camp this year was like non other.

The difference this year was being a leader.

I got to see my students be CALLED into missions, CALLED to get water baptized, CALLED to give their life to the Lord, CALLED into ministry and CALLED into leadership rolls.

It was SO fulfilling to see the Lord work in and through all of them.

I couldn’t have asked for a better team to lead, cheer for, pray over and support!

So many amazing young adults graduated last night! People always talk about “these kids today” but I can tell you that “these kids today” are compassionate, curious, intelligent, empathetic humans who are going to make the world a better place! As my 31-year teaching career comes to a close and I reflect on my time in the classroom, I know that there is no greater job than teaching. Over the years, my students have taught me more than they will ever know and have inspired me to continue, as 2024 valedictorian Owen Bartosh referenced last night, to keep pushing that rock up the hill, working to enrich their lives as they enrich mine. My new journey will take me into the role as WHS school counselor where hopefully I can spend more time improving students lives, listening to their hopes and fears, and helping them find their passions in life. Here’s to the next chapter! Class of 2024- go be great!
