Sanctuary of Sound & Whispers presents curated vinyl sets that weave through the night, soft enough to speak over, warm enough to move to. Because connection doesn’t always begin with words. Sometimes it begins with two people quietly noticing the same song.

Come listen. Come linger. The altar of sound will be opened!

During @dutchdesignweek, @foundationweare becomes a Sanctuary of Sound and Whispers, a listening bar dressed as a chapel. Curtains drape the perimeter, smoke crawls the floor, candles flicker, and scents of milk, wood, frankincense, and myrrh hang in the air. A fountain pours. A confessional waits.

This is an event slowed to a ritual. Step in lightly.

@dutchdesignweek is coming up soon and with it, a new edition of our Common Grounds event series on 24th of October.

"Sanctuary of Sound and Whispers" transforms a listening bar into a chapel of sound: a space where the communal energy of a bar meets the intimacy of listening. As the pace of Dutch Design Week builds, step inside for a ritualistic pause, to listen, connect, move and simply be.

The evening begins with participatory soundscapes, followed by a live performance and possibly spoken word, music or dance. As the night unfolds, curated vinyl and DJ sets take over, creating a soft yet engaging atmosphere for conversation, movement and unexpected encounters. Come as you are. Stay for the sound.

With @adriaan_de_man, @martinhooke, @hookedeman, @felix_just_felix, @lilo_benold, @olympeoblinger and @samael.ctti

While our Stories and Reels are filled with past memories and raw flashes of next weekend, this post is your anchor for the full picture. 🖤

Here is a first unpolished glimpse into the program for our upcoming edition Tabula Rasa. We consciously choose raw footage because a blank slate deserves real human expression, not polished filters or AI generated videos. 👁️

Join us into a conversation on queer nightlife in Eindhoven, and how it exists between autonomy and absorption, between community-making and existing structures. 📩

We will explore how queer nightlife has been shaped by histories of self-organization and collective space-making, while also being increasingly taken up within institutional and commercial frameworks. This raises questions about visibility, access, representation, and safety, and how these are distributed unevenly within nightlife spaces.

Rather than offering answers, the talk opens up space to think through these tensions together; as an invitation to reflect on nightlife as something constantly negotiated, shaped by both care and constraint, and always in process.

Including perspectives from @bacchanalia_party, @dynamo_ehv, @eindhoven.ballroom, @nachtambassade & moderated by @eatartforsurvival.

📍 @biergarten.eindhoven, Ketelhuisplein 16, Eindhoven
🗓 Thu. 18.06.2026, 19:00

🔌 Here’s a peek at some details of the first edition of our event.

It felt nice to do something that hasn’t been done for a long time at @nul.zes by bringing a funky alternative experience to the used spaces.

Mixing electro music with electric experiences brings us great joy that we want to continue sharing with you.
