In the spring time of 2019, director @jason.hyun.kim was a mid twenties just married man with bright eyes moving to SoHo in NYC. He didn’t know a lot about it other than that it was an enclave of artists and avant garde movements. Fascinated by the architecture and spectre of galleries that haunt its streets at night, it was much less hustle bustle in the night time and rather gentle and quiet in soho.

Caught on film by directors like Scoreses in “After Hours” and Kubrick in “Killer’s Kiss”, its air of cinematic romance never fails to captivate artists, residents and tourists alike.

Official selection in exhibition of 2026 SOHO International Film Festival, we are proud to have “Selfless” be part of the artistic fabric of SoHo which is the soul of this neighborhood.

We are thrilled to be selected as an official selection at Diff Shorts!

Screening at the iconic Angelika Film Center & Cafe in Dallas - I’m just delighted. Theaters like the Angelika on Houston St and east village are what makes cities like New York and Dallas great.

Giddy up! 🤠

🎬 Narrative Short Film Highlight - Selfless

How far can devotion twist before love turns lethal? A desperate mother’s drastic decision unravels long-buried secrets, forcing her family into a volatile reckoning. Jason Hyun Kim delivers a gripping psychological drama, hauntingly dissecting the fine line between parental sacrifice and dangerous delusion with unsparing cinematic intensity.
