When we started RVA Rap Elite it was because we saw a void and a decline in some very foundational elements in our Hiphop scene. The title “emcee” was becoming obsolete.

Cyphers had long been a thing of the past, and the concept of developing the craft of emceeing, showing and proving and true artist development was being replaced by instant internet clout and half baked connections with the people. “Networking” was replacing community building.
The essence was lost, the recipes were dwindling and even established artists/emcees lost the passion for the SPORT of it all. There was little culture around put Hiphop anymore.

From the first episode we began to rekindle that energy, the sport, the competition, the lyricism, the community, the passion for the CULTURE. Hundreds of emcees from all over the state and beyond have touched the stage, have been inspired, have developed. So many cyphers, so many battles, so many performances, SO MANY RELATIONSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS. We’ve incorporated many other movements in the city into ours as well. We’ve worked with World Emcee/ Team Back, Lyricist Lounge, URL and more.
8 years later our mission is still the same.

Through tons of lost venues, a global pandemic and a list of personal challenges we’ve pushed through. Now on the heels of another closed venue we’ve got the opportunity to start again at a new venue this Sunday at The Park RVA and we’re calling on the city, we’re calling on the culture to pull up and bring the energy that only Richmond Hiphop can bring. It’s needed…it’s necessary and it’s vital if we are going to continue pouring these recipes into the next generations of emcees.

ALL AGES, kids under 15 free admission, using the discount code: RICHMOND brings the ticket to $10. Doors open at 3pm and show starts are
4pm. Come have an amazing time with the culture. WE LOVE YOU RICHMOND. Let’s do it again! TICKET LINK IN BIO!
