Today, we had to say goodbye to our first family dog and beloved best friend Charlie. He gave us 9-plus years and filled our home with so much love and joy. He brought character as well and hated when we said goodbye when one of us left the house. He was a fun-loving, grumpy dude! And we loved him deeply!

This was one of the hardest choices we had to make but we did it knowing our best boy would be free of his suffering.

Our family loved Charlie with all we had and he loved us right back. He loved his walks, his rides in the Jeep, and his snuggles with his people. I will miss looking outside while he sunbathed and rolled around in the grass. That was his happy place!

Losing Charlie is so very hard, but we will take all of the great memories with us and remember what a great gift he was. I will remember you forever Charlie. You are and always will be my pal and you are our GOAT!

Love you pal with all my heart. I hope you’re running free now chasing squirrels with no cares in the world about anything. Goodbye ol’ friend! I love you always! 💔🐕🦴🥺

Out with these two tonight in Raleigh at Cowfish for dinner. A really nice night! We all had the night off from work so we made it count. Missing Mom and Z!

Happy 26th Birthday @zackdoepp (WOW!), the guy who made mom and I parents and ushered in the start of our family.

We are SO proud of you and wish you a tremendous and sunny California day! Though you are thousands of miles away, you are close to us in our hearts. We love and miss you, Z! ❤️🌞

Happiest of Birthdays to you, our wonderful son/brother!
