Since founding Make Freedom Ring in January 2024, we’ve organised 21 concerts globally and raised over EUR 100,000 for charities and organisations providing emergency aid in Gaza and the West Bank. If you’ve attended any of our events, you’ve likely noticed a unifying visual thread throughout our posters. That’s thanks to the extraordinary talent of one designer: José Lima @lima_semze_ . José has re-designed our logo, which we’re pleased to share with you. THANK YOU, José, for your powerful, moving designs. Looking back through these posters is a sobering reminder of the length and scale of the genocide, and indeed the many obstacles we’ve faced in organising our concerts due to a hostile industry. Though mainstream rhetoric on Palestine has shifted slightly, it’s imperative that we continue to act, and fight for a free Palestine. In the coming months: - We’ll return to Berlin with a fundraising concert on 16. September and participate in the Musik für Menschlichkeit 20. September musical flash mob - Concerts are in the works for Ireland and the UK. - We’ll continue hosting our Classical Music and Palestine Industry Forum (date will be shared asap). - we’ll join the newly formed Classical Musicians’ Bloc at the upcoming national marches in London Our work is far from finished, but we’re heartened to see more people joining the movement than ever before. We are committed to music as a force for liberation, to amplifying Palestinian voices, and to a free Palestine. Sem palavras e com o coração cheio de alegria por ver o meu livro sobre Dulombi, na Guiné-Bissau, chegar às mãos das pessoas que fotografei — especialmente ao nosso pai, conselheiro e amigo Uri. Ver a reação dele ao se reconhecer nas páginas, com brilho nos olhos e admiração foi um dos momentos mais emocionantes dessa jornada. Eterna gratidão meu irmão. —————— I am speechless and my heart is full of joy to see my book about Dulombi, in Guinea-Bissau, reach the hands of the people I photographed — especially our father, advisor and friend Uri. Seeing his reaction when he recognized himself in the pages, with a sparkle in his eyes and admiration, was one of the most moving moments of this journey.
