Big news for lacrosse in Arizona! 🥍

Please join us in congratulating our Co-Founder and President, Shannon Roberts, on being named the Head Coach of the NAU Women’s Lacrosse Club.

For Shannon, this role is about much more than coaching one team. It’s another step toward building a stronger future for lacrosse across Northern Arizona—creating opportunities for athletes at every stage, from picking up a stick for the first time through competing at the collegiate level.

With a background as a standout player at Limestone University and former college coach at Randolph-Macon College, Shannon brings years of experience and an unwavering passion for growing the game.

As she leads the Lumberjacks while continuing to grow Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse, one goal remains the same:

Build the pathway.

“I don’t want Northern Arizona athletes to have to leave to find an opportunity to play at a high level. I want to build it here.”

Congratulations, Coach! We’re excited to see what’s ahead for NAU Women’s Lacrosse and Northern Arizona Youth Lacrosse.

When I took over the Instagram a few years ago, I spent a long time brainstorming the types of posts and content that everyone would enjoy. Never in a million years would I have thought I’d have to make a post like this.
I wish I could post pictures of all our ATs in action over the years, but so many ATs have come and gone, it would be an injustice to the ones who came before me not to make sure everyone is included.
Speaking for the entire Athletic Training department feels daunting, but I’m going to give it my best shot:
We want to say Thank You. Thank you to every athlete who has walked through our doors; parent who has trusted us to take care of their child; coach who has trusted us with the wellbeing of their team; and support staff member who worked alongside us. The life of an Athletic Trainer isn’t a glamorous one. It’s long days and nights, working tirelessly to keep our athletes and teams going. But the thing that keeps us all going is the love we have for our athletes. We are going to miss each and every one of you. It has been a privilege and honor to be your AT.
Once a Saint, always a Saint. 💙💛
