Join the @limitednetwork crew and Black Nation founder @djjaydenham to open up IT’s weekend at Tangent Thursday night, with live hardware sets and raw wax spinning until 3AM, hitting as true as it gets to the essence of Midwest techno. The future sound meets the electro-specialists that paved their way. No illusions, no vapidity, no corners stagnated. All motion, all night.

Let’s look briefly at your evening’s itinerary:

Globally renowned and Kalamazoo-born Jay Denham will be throwing down the tracks that informed this next generation of underground cats.

Search Party featuring @1200watts, @baskasanball, @j_u_l_i_3__n and @allendennard313, will give us a proper dose of live musicianship, blurring the lines and reinventing the relationship between jazz and techno.

@famdet will be back at Tangent to screw our heads on backwards with his future forward live set.

Returning from Montreal, Detroit’s own @wetdo99 will join southeastern Michigan runaway, @dubslately, in their electro punk duo, Death by Sex Drive—a pair guaranteed to turn the lights out.

@b_r.od and @5tr8tch will make their way back to Detroit via L.A., each with a fresh perspective and a vast selection of hard-to-finds. Including but not limited to some of the most righteous dance music selections of all time.

The first night of IT’s takeover of the Tangent — for the week of May 21 until May 25, IT presented 6 shows in 5 days. On Thursday May 21, IT x Limited Network presented Fade II Black, exploring many sides of this emerging label. Live shows from Search Party effortlessly fusing techno and real jazz, the electro-punk Death By Sex Drive and hometown hero Bileebob just scorched the place, followed by DJ sets from turntablists B.Rod and 5tr8tch. Thursday night, the first night of IT’s residency at Tangent, was a truly unique cross cultural event, connecting generations and disparate genres with ease, grace and true rawness that is incredibly empowering for the culture.

Our best music of 2025 has landed.

We’ve identified six key musical themes celebrating our favourite tracks, records and mixes, alongside short essays taking the temperature of electronic culture this year.

We heard modern sound system tunes; shimmering electronic pop; peak-time club slammers; meticulous machine funk; downtempo guitars and artists pushing noise to new extremes. In short, something for everyone.
