POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Yesterday, the haze hit a PSI reading of over 250. The sky was gloomy, the air was unhealthy, and everything seemed to lose a little of its colour.

Then I chanced upon a post that got me thinking.

And having recently spent some time reading Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si’, one particular message came to mind:

“Everything is connected.” 🌍

We often think about how the haze affects our health, especially our breathing. But @limpeifen post invited me to look a little further.

🌺 Flower: “What is the point of my red without the blue sky?”

🌳 Tree: “My leaves are green, but where is the golden sun?”

☁️ Cloud: “Does it even matter if I am white or grey anymore?”

Three simple lines, yet they say so much.

They reminded me that creation is not made up of separate things. The flowers, trees, clouds, sunlight, animals and human beings all share this one common home.

And when one part suffers, the rest are affected too.

Sometimes, the consequences of human actions and our carelessness go far beyond what we can see or imagine.

This is what I am slowly coming to appreciate about Laudato Si’. Caring for our common home is more than just recycling, saving water or using less electricity. It is about recognising our relationship with everything God has created and taking responsibility for how we live.

Perhaps the haze is another reminder that what happens to our environment is never someone else's problem.

Thank you, Peifen, for sharing those three simple lines. They made me stop, reflect and see our common home a little differently.

Everything is connected. And everything deserves our care. 🌿🙏

Still running on an emotional high from my very first musical. I never knew I could have so much fun on stage -- more than just acting, singing and dancing, it was playing, living and breathing, letting the moments and emotions take over you, taking it all in almost like a drug. Authentic, spontaneous, auto-pilot subconscious hyper-sensitivity. A timely reminder that life should be lived this vicariously too.

The performance of everything outward draws strength and courage first from what begins internally and is inside you. Grateful for the emotional, inward journey led by our director @this.is.how.we.heal who added life and blood into the script, happy dance celebrations with @andybenjamincai, melodious singing mentored by @elainechanmusic, and meticulous planning by our stage manager @shining540. Thankful to @love972fm for the opportunity to be involved in this exciting expedition, working hand-in-hand, rehearsal after rehearsal with this loving and talented group of DJs, actors, dancers and crew behind the scenes to make it all come together. Blessed to have my 9 younger brothers journeying together with me, the laughter and memories through thick and thin, it's been an honour to be your #大哥! I'm so glad I said a resounding Yes to the scriptwriter @denniszhouchongqing to which everything began.

After all the elevated state and heightened applause of the stage comes the jarring calm and quiet of life, only difference is -- I'm still revelling and dancing in all these moments, because I know they are the same thing. ❤️
