I had the honour and privilege of getting to wood-burn the top of my Gramps box for his funeral. I also did a woodburned rose (based off of a intended matching tattoo design) for my cousin to leave with him at his burial. Being able to leave such sentimental pieces of art with them is heartwarming. Thankful to have found this craft. • ⚠️ Please do not read the following if death triggers you. ⚠️ Two weeks ago today we finally laid our Gramps to rest. Two days ago we finally laid our cousin to rest. Our Gramps passed on December 31, 2020 after fighting the battle against pancreatic cancer. For two years he pushed beyond all doctors expectations and fought to stay with his family until the very end. Our cousin had taken his life on October 6, 2020 after years of struggles and mental health battles. Despite all this he was always there for his loved ones whether it was in person or just a call away. He always loved to joke to make the ones around him happy. He had a beautiful contagious smile that we will miss dearly. I came across a passage a few short months ago written by @amandalovelace that really sat with me… (in photos). This passage may be the only way I know how to explain the pain felt regarding their death. Though we were distant in space we were never distant in heart. Rest easy Gramps, rest easy Cuz. Miss and love you always 🤍 James D. Webber 10.19.1949 - 12.31.20 Brandon M.
