10/21-10/24- I recently traveled to Indianapolis Indiana to explore the agricultural industry during the 99th Annual National FFA Convention. This event resulted in over 70,000 members gathering to shape the future of American agriculture. The experience was both educational and inspiring for me. It offered impactful motivational speakers and the prestigious American Degree ceremony. Beyond the convention, site visits provided a technical look at a variety of forms of which agriculture is innovated in our lives. Hunter’s Honey Farm and Velvet View Farms showcased specialized production and livestock management, while Kokomo Grain Company demonstrated logistics and supply chain processes that are essential to modern agribusiness.

I have been on this trip many times and it is never anything short of amazing! It offers a high variety of booth displays from organizations, colleges, and career fields. As well as an opportunity to meet people from all over the country. It also offers hands on activities like virtual welding, labeling animal anatomy, etc. All of which create growth in learning. I highly recommend attending National FFA Convention at least once in a lifetime! It may surprise you what you’ll see, learn, and how much you might grow from the opportunity! @nationalffa

A note from Austin’s mum, Jennifer, about what she sees when she watches her son race… I think it’s pretty profound.

In a race suit stands a little boy, now a man, looking toward a racetrack that somehow still feels so much bigger than he is.

He doesn’t know how many races will be hard.

He doesn’t know about the wins and the losses. The broken parts. The long drives. The sacrifices. Or just how much it will take to chase his dream.

He just knows he wants to race.

And maybe that’s the most beautiful part.

Because every dream has a journey, and not every journey looks the same.

Autism doesn’t define the limits of his dream. It is simply one part of a much bigger story — a story filled with passion, determination, challenges, courage and possibilities.

Before the pressure.

Before the expectations.

Before the trophies, the points and the checkered flags…

There was simply a little boy with a dream.

And today, there is a whole lot of people standing behind that little boy, now a man — cheering him on, believing in him and hoping he never forgets why he started.

As his mom, when I watch Austin race, I see so much more than a driver behind the wheel.

I see the little boy he once was.

I see the man he has become.

I see every challenge he has overcome, every mile we have travelled, every moment of doubt, every celebration and every person who has helped him along the way.

And no matter how fast he goes, how many races he wins or how many championships he brings home, part of me will always see that little boy in a race suit who simply wanted to race.

And I couldn’t be prouder of him.

A pretty special project for Brantley! 🇺🇸🔥

Brantley got the opportunity to make one of his hitch-mounted flag pole holders for our local fire department, and you better believe he was excited about this one!

There’s just something extra special about seeing something you built with your own two hands being used by the men and women who serve our community every single day.

He’s only been welding for a short time, but watching his skills, confidence, and little business grow has been so much fun. From an idea…to sparks flying in the shop…to a finished piece ready to fly the flag. 🇺🇸

Thank you to our local firefighters for supporting this young welder and trusting Young Gun Fabrication with this project. Brantley is one proud kid today! #younggunfabrications #georgia #weldred @lincolnelectric

A friend gifted me a bucket full of horseshoes from a neighbor who has show horses, and I wanted to find a meaningful way to say thank you. So I turned a few of those horseshoes into a cross.

There’s something special about creating something with your own hands for someone who showed you kindness. I can’t wait to give it to him. What do you think? #younggunfabrications #weldred @lincolnelectric

I love teaching.

I love slowing down with someone, helping them figure it out, and watching them realize they can do it. Welding changed my life. I teach these classes for free because I want more people to have a place to start.

Money shouldn’t be the thing that keeps someone from getting a chance to learn.

If you know something, teach it. Be patient. Let somebody be a beginner. What comes naturally to you now might be the very thing that opens a door for someone else.
